A Faces' reunion just won't be the same without Plonk...

I came here to say this, but substituting The Beatles for They Might Be Giants so I wouldn't look stupid.

/unless that was a joke in which case I look stupid anyway

I kid, I kid.

Ron Wood has talent. Radiohead doesn't.

I wouldn't mind seeing it happen. The Faces might be the only justifiable reason Rod Stewart is allowed to draw breath . . . if, you know, there is indeed a God, and he does in fact care at all for mankind.

/The Stones are immortal anyway.
//Agree with the TMBG reference
///Agree with the Beatles reference, but lay off TMBG.

I hope the other people in this thread who said the same thing (using different bands though) were just kidding too.

The Stones have never been my favorite band, nor do I think they are the best or even the greatest, but they are they greatest rock 'n' roll band ever.

Go figure.

Who the fark are They Might Be Giants anyway?

/Ah - I see - they play accordion and do children's music and TV theme shows - That's all I need to know

mfaby 2008-04-08 01:49:35 AM
Man, this would be fun.

I saw them on Holloween at the old Chicago Stadium back in '75.
Guess who the warm-up band was:
John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Yup.

Go figure.

(CAN'T BELIEVE he as been with the Stones for THIRTY FARKING YEARS, tho'.)

Ilmarinen 2008-04-08 06:02:12 AM
Maybe they can persuade Mick Taylor to come back. How awesome would that be?

He already got together with Bill Wyman.

why the Faces should reunite.

GibbyTheMole 2008-04-08 07:35:11 AM
Back in the day, the Faces were a kickass rock and roll band, right up there with the best of them.

If they could reunite and be what they once were, great. But that's not possible. Rod's hammered his voice to death, though. That's why he's recording those lame-ass grocery store muzak ditties.

dereksmalls 2008-04-08 07:37:33 AM
he could then re-form Santa Barbara Machine Head, and the Jeff Beck group, if he felt like playing bass.

No Plonk, but the Faces could get that Japanese guy who replaced him if his liver is holding up.

If there's one thing the Faces had, it was fun.

Faces > The Rolling Stones.

Isn't the GIANTS the shiatty band that does the Malcolm in the middle theme song?

You need to expend your horizon son

MikoSquiz 2008-04-08 08:50:15 AM
Eh, have you heard the singer in his current band? Guy sounds like someone playing hockey with a cat for a puck.

you saw by far the greatest lineup of the mahavishnu orchestra, me and my horrible sounding bootlegs from 75 hate you.

HappyHarryHardOn

If your conception of TMBG is the chorus for one of their songs that is the theme song for a crappy show, it's not his horizons that need expanding.

Son.

I read Ronnie's book last year. Sounds like a guy who can't say no, and loves just playing with different people. In the book, he also mentioned that there might be a reunion one day, he is certainly up to it.

He also sounds privileged to play with the Stones, Keith being one of his best buds, and Charlie going back to playing with his brother in a band in the 50s. Recently he needed to borrow a couple million off the guys during the last tour, because Ronnie just spends it all. Sounds like he needs a few million injected in to his bank account every four years just to stay afloat.

Sorry to break the bad news to you subby but Ron Wood has never been a member of Judas Priest.

The Faces were a great band. It would be great to hear Rod Stewart return rock and roll, but it can never be a real reunion without Ronnie Lane.

He was surprisingly competitive; and even more surprisingly lucid.

/Still can't believe Simon Cowell holds the speed record.

Ron Wood was the best part of the best Rod Stewart albums. Please, Ron, reunite with the guy, and kick him in the nuts whenever he starts singing any song he recorded after Smiler.
