Hey, it's the guy from A Place to Bury Strangers! I liked them before Pitchfork told me to.

Hipster TV?

Nah. I can click around on my own, thanks.

FTFA: With more than 60 sessions in the can, Pitchfork.tv will launch with original sessions from Man Man, Liars, A Place to Bury Stangers, The Thermals, Jay Reatard and others.

Hmm...no...that's not going to draw me in. In fact, that drives me away from being the slightest bit interested. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the most popular music videos on YouTube are from the pre-90s era. When songs actually had guitar solos and such.

While it's true that the TV part of MTV sucks, it's more than equally true that the M has been in massive decline for the past 10 years. I'm waiting for the recording industry to finally collapse so focus can get put back on making albums that flow and kick ass.

No, actually it hasn't. Major labels have, but music in general hasn't.

Reportedly their slogan is Pitchfork.tv: At least it's not Fark TV.

Yeah, we'll see how well this does after they realize no one clicks on ads or wants to pay for anything.

YouTube IS what MTV was and should be; not only is it crammed with MTV2 videos, but it is all on demand. Find the music and bands you want to see, now.

If pitchfork can provide additional and/or better content, and link to and from youtube, this may prove a highly valuable way to be a service for the niche market they are aiming at.

Did you go to their show a few weeks back? They're easily one of the loudest bands I've ever seen.

Louder than Dinosaur Jr? I found them to be quite loud. My ears are still ringing almost a year later

Yes, but I assume since you went to a Dinosaur Jr. show, that you are now best friends with popular actor Matt Dillon, no? I hear he lives at those shows.

I saw that they were playing (Sunday Source...) but I'm an olde man and barely survived the Broadcast show at the blackcat two years ago. (read: I couldn't find any friends who wanted to go)

El Chode: Louder than Dinosaur Jr?

NO one is louder than Man O War!

/nor is anyone cheesier...

Don't diss Pitchfork.
They have introduced me to such great bands as:
Charles Barkley
Scotty Pippin
Local Stuff From Providence
The shiat Blossoms
The Farking Idiots
Executive Fingerblast
Chipmunk Skull Crush
I Got Beat Up at my Cousin's Bar Mitzvah By my Cousin Whose Bar Mitzvah It Was

What, take a gigantic shiat and not clean it up?

/hipsters are a special kind of people that can make you feel like crap for not liking crap.

Hipster douchebags writing overly-pretentious album reviews peppered with prodigious use of multi-syllabic $2.00 words? Yeah.

/wait a sec...

I wonder how Pitchfork's ad revenue is doing lately. Usually advertising and marketing seem to take it in the ass the most when we're in a (R-word-that-people-never-like-to-say.)
