BiggityBanninated: I love how people who have never been in prison think its such a great place.

by the same token I have visited prisons several times. The Medium Security Prisons in America are not all that horrible. (I only went to one max security, Angola, and it was pretty bad). There was really a big dormitory like environment and the food was not all that bad.(yes I ate the prison food several times.

Some people who live very marginalized lives on the outside have told me that they want to leave prison, but also fear going out on their own. Prison might not be a nice place, but you can have a sort of stability there.

I remember when they were doing this back in the 90s in the United States and everything was well and fine until one kid sued for unlawful imprisonment and won.

I realize the labour you put into that comment. I hope you don't drop your torch in the dark, or you won't be able to find the boot to your lorry, and then you cannot get your fags and you might tarnish the aluminium.

You mean felching is so widespread in prisons?

ImJustaTroll 2008-04-06 12:25:32 PM
Shock Tactic? You know the worse thing about prison? The length of stay, the community, the destruction of a person's life and job opportunities.. Nothing that you could truly show a kid to make him/her understand how much a burden going to jail puts on your life.

Then again some people know that nothing big will ever happen to them. Not smart enough, nice enough, pretty enough, or whatever, so they will never care about going to prison. It's inevitable for them.

While it is true children don't always listen to their parents, if they don't listen to their parents at all, the parents failed.

Most teen males would happily spend their life in prison if their cell had a PS3. The useless generation.

Kids were always stupid. But they're a lot lazier and stupider now.

"Kids are sent to prison to stop them going back as criminals soon realise a nice warm cell with non-stop TV is not such a bad deal after all"

Ow. To qualify as English,

1. that "are" should be changed to "who are",
2. the "are" should be dropped altogether
or
3. an "and" should be inserted after "criminals".

Just a comma inserted after "criminals" would at least make it headline-English, because the "and" would be implied.

/Yes, I realise that I put my comma and period after the quotation marks. I'm American, but the British style makes more sense, as the commas and periods in examples like those above aren't part of the actual quotation.
