The Orb are still one of my favorite groups, and although this is just a snippet of the 40.00 original, one of my all time favorite tunes.

Ah, tech house. Well, if you insist...

The current masters of deep electronic music. If you like the Orb's trippier dance stuff, like their remixes of Mike Oldfield, you'll love these guys.

I've had a more spaced-out, ambient version of this song on my playlist for years...didn't even know there was a beat heavy track. Cool.

I'm personally mega-partial to that one mix that Pal Joey did. Oh-so-fhuckin'-awesome. :)

Nice stuff. A version of this track was on Urbal Beats Vol 1 which is an awesome compilation.
Another fun soundtrack from this era is the game space racing game Wipeout XL

Steve Reich found out that the song "Little Fluffy Clouds" is built around a sample of Pat Metheny's performance of his composition "Electric Counterpoint" when an interviewer asked him if he'd ever heard of the Orb. He hadn't.

Reich decided against suing Alex Patterson, though he had every right to. I do think now if you buy that album, Steve Reich does get a co-composer credit on that song.

What do you mean? Not trying to be snarky, but I've been listening to stuff well before the Orb and the music is better than ever.

It's nostalgia, condition responsible for almost half of all posts on fark.com/music

Love The Orb. My favorite albums are Cydonia and Orblivion. Great band, great sound.
