Before all you antique fans chime in I have to ask..
Have you ever seen an antique really being faked?
I mean an antique being faked with deadly force.
Just wondering...

I worked for a temp service for a time. I was sent on an assignment to an antique shop to move inventory. I wound up "stressing" certain tables and chairs to make them look older. At the time I didn't think anything of it, then I saw those two brothers on Antiques Roadshow talking about exactly what I had been doing.

Yeah, I worked for a guy that imported antiques from Europe, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies...

The best part of the story was in the comments...

I have grave doubts about my George II B&W television as it has two channels and I was told by the dealer that that the extra channel was was probably retro-fitted in the early Edwardian period. Any body have any comments?
