I used to bullseye swamp rabbits in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

I work for the Obama campaign so I'm getting a big kick out of these replies...

Seriously though I do. Damned unemployment. Gives you time to do things like work for a presidential campaign. Right now I'm configuring a computer for their canvassers. Tomorrow I'll be setting up more of them so their callers can get the primary going.

Damn. Never thought I'd be this involved in politics in the real world. Dude better win, and better make it so those goddamned corporations will quit outsourcing every farking job you can think of.

Oh well, what better to do than work a campaign that might make it.

Sounds a bit like me in 2004, helping the Kerry campaign, since I couldn't find employment. Though I didn't get quite as involved as you are, it's still the only time I've campained for someone.. and that includes my father, who also helped when he had time.

Carter was in Nigeria for a ceremony celebrating a reduction in Guinea worm disease in West Africa.

However, this may possibly be the best line ever written in any major US newspaper.

Before the Swamp rabbit fans chime in I have to ask..
Have you ever seen a human really killed by a swamp rabbit,
I mean a human being killed with deadly force.
Just wondering

Asked if there was concern that Carter would be regarded as particularly influential, Wolfson said Carter is 'clearly a distinguished former leader of our party and is a superdelegate. And I'm sure that people will be interested in the choice that he makes. But no, nothing beyond that.'

Douche chillllll

this guy is one third of the living ex-presidents, and there is no concern other than "people will be interested"

classic, total classic

Oh, yes. They splash about in the bayous in their payess and prayer shawls, arguing about the meaning of the Ten Commandments as they relate to moonshiners and alligator hides.

Carter is awfully damn hard to defend from a left-leaning liberal perspective.

He came off like a "man of the people" but he was tied in with the creepy Trilateral Commission, which as far as I'm concerned was just another think tank behind-the-scenes policymaking group like the PNAC, which we give so much crap about.

Not to mention all the clandestine CIA operations during his Presidency, tinkering with and toppling where they didn't belong, meddling and muddling.

Carter used to say the words "human rights" a lot too. I remember. He'd emphasize the second word "human RIGHTS." I was only 14, but I knew he didn't believe in what he was saying, not enough to stand up for those words. He was a tool.

LittleSmitty 2008-04-06 05:15:08 AM
Ya'll leave Jimmy alone. You can thank Carter for the right to brew beer at home. That alone makes up for an otherwise crappy presidency.

Gulper Eel [TotalFark] 2008-04-06 06:19:41 AM
Alphax: Yes, expect for Carter being a good and honorable man.

Carter is a sanctimonious narcissist who talked a smooth game on human rights but never met a dictator's ass he couldn't kiss, and he's been dining out for 30 years on the support of suckers like you. Good and honorable? How about phony from the get-go?

Carter is one of our three worst presidents - just behind Buchanan, and given some distance history will show whether or not Bush belongs in there with Carter too. And the only reason Carter isn't also the worst ex-president is that John Tyler turned traitor after leaving office and got himself elected to the Confederate House of Representatives.

Enemabag Jones 2008-04-06 08:15:46 AM
Gulper Eel,
Carter is one of our three worst presidents - just behind Buchanan, and given some distance history will show whether or not Bush belongs in there with Carter too.

Thanks for throwing the W Bush option in there. I agree that Carter as pres mangled many well-intentioned decisions. However many farkers out here can decide right now that Carters's well-intentioned short four years is far better Bush's series of calamities and 'my bad' events restoring dignity to the presidency.
