I thought we phased him out.

Kudos on the headline, subby. Nice one.

"Let the eagle soar...."

Yeah, and I hope it shiats on your head, asshat.

Remember folks, this is the guy that insisted that we spend tax dollars to cover the "obscene" statue of lady justice. He's just trying to keep our government pure.

My defining moment for Ashcroft was when he was before a Congressional committee of some sort and was asked about whether he kept the Bush administration up-to-date on the investigation of a Democratic Senator. He kept saying: "I can't recall!!" or something else that couldn't be disproved. He sat there w/a little smirk, and the message was obvious: "I'm lying, you know I'm lying, I know that you know I'm lying, but you can't prove it!! Nyah nyah!!"

So much for his obeying the Ten Commandments.

Jesus Christ, is that real or shopped? If thats real, taht is one of the greatest picture I have ever seen! It is the artistic representation of inevitable death.

And what's teh deal w/the badger right behind the pole of the bird house? Is that a black kitty being nuzzled?

Ashcroft did that too? That sounds more like Gonzales (on about 75 different occasions. In one sitting).

Not a fan of Asscroft,( loved that BTW) and I don't hate Senator Obama,at all. But I have done this...Honestly by accident. Remember that we had a freaking flood of osama, songs, news reports, you name it. He very well may have done this intentionally, but I am willing to give him a VERY SMALL BOTD

/probably would have boo'd him too
//I am not thrilled with anyone who's running

Yeah. He did it, too. He wasn't so blatant w/a smirk and rubbing it in, though. You could tell Ashcroft was getting a kick out of it.

Some people do it on accident, some on purpose. The first person on record doing it was Ted Kennedy, and I don't think anyone claims he did it on purpose.

Did Ashcroft? Maybe, maybe not. But, based on this response, I'm pretty sure he'll be careful not to do it again.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid calling attention to the fact we are only 8 years in. Millennium is a bit too strong a reminder.

It's all true, everything that's been said about the man above. I defer to no one in my dislike for the guy. But even so: Ashcroft sat up in his hospital bed and told Gonzales and Card to go pound salt, when they came around looking for a stamp of approval on Bush's illegal wiretaps. Not even he would go for that one, and so, inevitably, he was replaced by that sick joke Alberto.

Ashcroft is one of the few Bush administration members who took a stand on principle, under great duress, and likely got shiatcanned for it. Credit where due.

While I agree that Ashcroft did the right thing there, I think you may be underestimating the number of Bush administration people who took stands on principle and got shiatcanned for it. Some of whom may not have realized they were taking a stand against the administration in the first place but just did the right thing as a matter of course and got fired for it (the Gonzo Eight are a good example of this).

Agreed. The look on his face during that video is almost the definition of mortified.

To be fair, he was only against wiretaps for white people.

Point taken. I'm sure there are more, but it's depressing that we've heard from so few, relatively speaking.

Ashcroft's appearance at the highly liberal college, which was arranged by a small group of conservative students

Nevermind that Ashcroft is disgraced, discredited, busted and crawling out of the morally bankrupt Bush administration, let's be a bunch of assholes and stick it to the liberal majority here.

Well, you sure showed those liburuls, dumbasses. Hurdy hurdy.

I think he's been doing a few of these appearances, lately. The local liberal arts college Conservative kids are having him come on over. A lot of other kids are pissed off about that, but I--not being a kid--don't care. If the conservative kids want to invite someone to speak on their group's dime, that's perfectly fine with me. I may even go listen in.

I think he has a lot for which to answer, though.

Your Faith is Creepy: Ashcroft is one of the few Bush administration members who took a stand on principle, under great duress, and likely got shiatcanned for it. Credit where due.

True enough, but unfortunately not enough.

Anyway, I think it was probably an honest mistake, and not an intentional slip, because he would have known that this particular audience wouldn't take a shine to something like that. He's an old codger like most of these guys and old codgers do this kind of thing.

Lastly, WTF BADGERS
