Somebody should tell Kerry how much Clear Channel did for Bush in '04.

Ted Striker: The merger came through. The new service launches tomorrow. We're bribing the regulators with Daiquiris at 1800 hours. We're broadcasting from the north, below their radar.
Elaine Dickinson: When will you be able to tune in?
Ted Striker: I can't tell you that. It's classified.

I wonder how much ClearChannel & CBS donated to Kerry's Presidential campaign a few years ago. Technology has changed a great deal since 1997. MP3 players, CDs, AM/FM radio, and HD radio all compete with satellite radio. The FCC needs to change with the times and just approve this damn merger.

Kerry is in bed with traditional media. So is Clinton. Deal with it.

So she dumps everything but the one year we really care about right now...on a Friday....late...and claims Obama isn't being open enough...after she stalled for months.

Who wants to vote for the lying manipulative whore?

John Kerry needs to shut his whore mouth while my two radios are merging.
Either way, in a year or two there will only be one satellite company, whether through merger or by bankruptcy. I wonder if he is catching any donations from the NAB for this, or if he is one of the morans who thinks that the satellite companies should give over a certain amount of channels for free to the terrestrial companies.

Shut up John Kerry, farking shut up.

Neither company is making a profit, a merger is the only way they can possibly restructure their business model to suit the market.

Once again, Kerry earns his assigned seat next to Bush at the back of the short bus.

1 year 46 days i believe since they should of been merged.... to bad terrestial radio donates a ton of money to politicians and doesnt want an actual competitor

/get the real monopoly, clear channel

jpo2269 2008-04-05 12:48:30 PM
I am sure Kerry's letter to FCC Chairman Martin started off with "If I were FCC Chairman, I would have already done a better job handling this merger.." or, "I was for the merger before I was against it.."

What an absolute douche bag.

Kerry has shown was most of the senators already didn't know.

Big Bold letters for everyone:

As part of the DOJ approval, XM and Sirius submitted a rate schedule that you can rest assure that the DOJ will make them stick to so the consumer doesn't get "screwed". In fact, you will be able to get almost all of the key exclusive XM and Sirius properties (Howard, O&A, R&F, Nascar, MLB, NHL, and NFL) for much, much less than buying XM and Sirius together right now. This merger is necessary for the survival of both companies. Both are failing. The NAB wants to block this merger so both companies crumble.

Because monopolies are such great things.

globalwarmingpraiser: Why do private corporations have to serve the public interest?.

In this case? Because we only have a limited spectrum available for OTA broadcasts. That may not be true for satellite, but Kerry is hoping you're not paying attention.

In general? Because the government limits corporate liability.

/Agrees with Kerry in this case.
