I want to work at a laundromat. At the going rates, if my girlfriend and I both did that job, we'd make enough money over 7 years to buy not one, but TWO pairs of pants!

Yeah but I hear when it comes to laundromats pants go for a few million.

/Obscure?

Yeah that's exactly why it would take us a few years from laundering to save up for those pants.

Nothing is obscure, this is Fark!

Also, re: TFA, this is pretty obviously why Hillary wasn't keen on releasing her tax returns.

See, there is a downside to being a Fortune 100 crime syndicate bigshot. It's bad enough you have to pay huge sums to Arkansas hillbillies, but then you have to listen to them speak.

I almost feel sorry for you.

When I think of Clinton-related laundering, see, I think of blue dresses.

What am I going to do with forty subscriptions to Vibe?

I was referring to the fact that when I first saw the headline, I missed the U.

I realize Clinton makes a lot speaking, but averaging $5 million per year is rock star money. I'm also doubtful (could be wrong) that the $51M figure includes money donated to Bill's "foundation."

When one commands two or three hundred grand per speaking appearance, $5 million adds up pretty quick.

"I have absolutely nothing against rich people," Hillary Clinton told North Dakota Democrats at their party convention Friday night in Grand Forks. "As a matter of fact, my husband _ much to my surprise and his _ has made a lot of money since he left the White House doing what he loves doing most, talking to people." I am one. Big time. I get paper-cuts on my ass from swimming around in a pool of Benjamins.

Is there anybody in the US Senate that isn't a millionaire?

brantgoose 2008-04-05 12:37:46 AM
It'll be fun to see how much money George Bush makes when he is out of office. Seeing as he had millions handed to him on silver platters when he was only the President's son (he left two or three bankrupt companies behind him with buckets full of cash, and then there was the baseball team). If f*****g up pays royally, Bush's speaking fees should top the five million dollar mark easily.

brantgoose 2008-04-05 12:47:40 AM
Al Gore has made over $100 million by himself. Signed on with Google pre-IPO ($30 million in stock options); Apple Board($6 million richer), business investment company in California, cable TV company, asset-management company... the cash that came with the Nobel Prize was small potatoes, as are his hefty speaking fees. Whilst searching for Man-Bear-Pig he must have stumbled on the Mother Load of Luck and Business Acumen. How's George and Barb doing?

Anyone reading that who doesn't know every detail of the circumstances of that quote obviously cheated on the Fark entrance exam.

That being said, it took me a while to read the hidden message. For some reason I could not find the first N. "'Laudering?' How does one lauder? Don't they mean 'laundering?' Oh. There it is."
