The personnel in that band actually have the potential to make fine music. Weiland was plainly the weak link. Be interesting to see what happens.

That's too bad, Weiland's a damn good singer.

I hope VR doesn't go get someone lame like like they almost did the first go-round (Sebastian Bach?!).

I'll gladly buy the next STP album... I can't say that's a definitive for the next VR one.

When I saw them live Weiland was dressed as Michael Jackson and he repeatedly made comments about how queer the crowd was and how queer the city was and how that turned him on. I really didn't need that and you know what, it's hard to listen to songs when you have to decipher whether that part was a gay innuendo or whether you should feel uncomfortable knowing that part is definitely gay. So good riddance I say. STP is good in its own right and he belongs there.

Weiland reunion tour with STP already scheduled. Slash just pissed.

Weiland Sucks he's a drug addicted tone deaf waste of skin. VR needs a good singer this time

Maybe John Corabi needs work.

Are they gonna keep the VR name? I suppose it's the best way to capitalize on it, and they don't have to come up with all-new songs, but didn't Weiland come up with the name to begin with?

He's stealing Mike Patton's shtick!

Captain Obvious got the axe in favor of Captain Sensible.

Damned fan a ways back... bigtime.

Weiland was just waiting for the 80s nostalgia trip to die down so he could cash in on the upcoming 90s nostalgia trick. I would rather see VR than STP any day, regardless of who is singing. Slash + Duff + Matt = powder keg of RAWK POWER.

A friend of mine has a theory about a GNR reunion... soon

and I think he might be right, along with this (which has been rumored for awhile) check out the management change announced by GNR. Same management as Velvet Revolver

/he's been knockin'
//he won't leave me alone

Slash, Duff, and Matt are workhorses - they've stayed busy with cool projects pretty steadily since the demise of GNR. It so happens that I was listening to the second Snakepit album, with Rod Jackson on vocals, just now. Man, what a solid album. Finding a strong frontman has been all of these guys' main problem all these years.

I'll say it again: Velvet Revolver featuring Chris Cornell

Oh god, please, this. Let them form. Get them a plane. Throw Axl and Weiland on for kicks, and crash that motherfarker in a midwest wheatfield.

Oh Merciful Christ, hear my prayer. We'll call it 'The Day The Music Got A Little Better'.

Sebastian Bach has some of the pipes in rock and roll. He would be great in that band.
Chris Cornell wold be a good match too.

The problem with VR was that they always sounded like STP covering Guns N' Roses.

While that's alright, it would have been infinitely cooler if they had sounded like GNR doing STP covers.

I'm sorry, but I always thought Scott Weiland was an overrated hack.

Sounds like a slightly edgier Scott Stapp to me.

They should hire Axl Rose as the new singer. He has one hell of a work ethic.
