Hoot! When I was a kid I had a fantasy of running away from home to Los Angeles and being the Runaway's love-slave. Particularly Joan Jett. Yeah, that would have ended well, I'm sure. In retrospect I am glad that I didn't pursue ALL of my dreams.

To this day I still get knots in my stomach when I see women with that particular brand of meticulously feathered hair even though it is probably considered wildly outdated.

Gangway Fathead 2008-04-04 05:44:56 PM
I love that during the 70's there were lots of hit songs that basically said "Don't worry, I don't love you, let's just bang.

This one
Not in Love by 10CC
Moonlight feels right by Starbuck
Even "Help Me" by Joni Mitchell

There's probably more...

'I'm not talkin bout the linen'
'And I don't wanna change your life'

It's a play on 'changing the linen', right?

And I just realized that this song is a 70s soft-rock Booty Call.

ifarkthereforiam 2008-04-04 05:55:00 PM
Now I remember why I never set my radio on AM during the 80's.

FilmBELOH20: What was the movie where Sam Jackson thought it was "I'm not talkin' 'bout the linen"?

I don't know the movie but i always thought that was the line too, like he don't care care if they get the linen all spooged up.

maxheck 2008-04-04 07:23:36 PM
I'm finding that rick-rolls just sort of... roll off my back. The original as well as this one, and every other I've seen recommended are all relatively good if cheesy tunes.

If you're going to rickroll someone, do it with something like this. (pops, NSFW, NSFEpileptics)

It's from "The Long Kiss Goodnight".

I wore that suit for my graduation. Only my shirt had a floral pattern to it. The shoes were big heeled and black paten leather. Ah!, the 70's.

Strangely, I can't stop myself from imagining this soft-rock troll from hitting on/violating the meme to end all memes MY MOM and vomit flies from my mouth stuccoing my computer screen like so much blow-in insulation.

petdance 2008-04-04 11:32:38 PM
I always thought it was "I'm not talkin' 'bout the linen," too, back when it was played all the time on WLS. It makes sense. "I'm not talkin' about getting between the sheets," right?

Cat Stevens was some awesome 70's music. There were some good songs back in the day, however, I'm not too crazy about this one.

Some weird shiat our ancestors listened to in the 70s and 80s.
