Holy crap. I'm listening thinking "those aren't the right words...what are they singing." Man, I COMPLETELY forgot that THEY didn't write the song about the game show.

I suddenly have a craving for a year's supply of Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat®.

/I'll just go on making myself look like a jerk in front of millions of people.
//And bringing shame and disgrace on my family name for generations to come.

I Lost On Jeopardy...

Greg's playing one of those wacky cool nearly unplayable Vox Phantoms. Don't see THOSE very often.

They just don't write 'em like that anymore.

This is a great track, but I personally prefer The Breakup Song myself

"Breakup Song" FTW.

Too bad the band got dis-Kihn-tinued.

My favorite Greg Kihn band song is "Testify" (pops)

". . . and a plumber with a PhD . . . "

One of a number of songs where I remember the Weird Al parody better than the original.

YESSSS!!!! Greg Kihn rocks!!! Why don't classic rock stations put his stuff into the rotation and play Night Moves a little less.

Personally, I always liked "Tear That City Down" better than this one.

Then you should remember it's:

"... against a plumber, oh and an architect, both with a Ph.D." ;)

I have no problem with the song. I'm grooving on the audience. OHMIGOD... did we really dress/look like that???

Folderol "Personally, I always liked "Tear That City Down" better than this one."

I'd have to go with Fascination, the song right before Tear That City Down.

On a side note, I've gotten a chance to hang out with Greg a couple of times over the years and he's a very cool, down-to-earth guy.

I actually saw Greg Kihn in concert back in '86". It was a free concert and the weather didn't cooperate. All the equipment was pulled off the stage, and most people left. About 100 of us stuck around and were treated to a 45 minute set by Greg and his acoustic guitar. Wonderful music? Maybe not, but memorable.

ah... Beserkly records. Still have a "sampler" LP of theirs with Kihn, Jonathan Richman and Earthquake's amazing cover of "Friday On My Mind". Great stuff.

hahaha...I used to work with Greg Kihn when he was doing mornings at KFOX in San Jose. That guy is pretty farking awesome. Every morning I'd be getting news/prep together and he'd be outside smoking a doobie.

Love that guy. Weirdest cat I've ever met.
