In order to 'swiftboat' someone, don't the allegations have to be false?

BTW, I don't think he is traitor or a criminal, and I don't care if he is an adulterer or not.

Swiftboating is stupid crap no matter who does it.

Of course, you could just go with provable facts.

• Doesn't know a Shia from a Sunni without prompting.
• Admits he "doesn't know as much about the economy as he should"
• Has a propensity towards anger
• Likely to die in office if elected
• Wants soldiers in Iraq "in the same capacity as in Germany or Japan".... regardless of the fact that that scenario is not in the least possible, now or in the near future. (Guess we'll just skip over that whole "quelling dissent" step.)
• Flip-flopper (see also: MLK Day, torture, Bush tax cuts)
*Note: may not be flipflopping. Could be Alzheimer's.
• Embraced the man who swiftboated HIM in 2000 for purely political gain.
• Plans to continue Bush's current foreign policy, as it's working so well.
• Demonstrated his loyalty and respect for promises by cheating on his first wife after she got in a car accident and was no longer the trophy wife he needed.
• Gets a free pass for his use of the term "gooks". But hey, it's not like the President is ever gonna have to deal with Asians, right?

Those are all just off the top of my head, and just the ones that are easily verifiable. I didn't throw in the Manchurian Candidate, the Forrestal, the Keating 5, "100 years", Stepford Wife or immigration.

There's no need to make stuff up when reality provides you with that many talking points.

Honestly... I give him a free pass on use of the term 'gook'. Someone tortures me for a while and I am pretty sure I am not going to be able to deal rationally with anyone who reminds me of that person.

This is also why I don't really want to vote for him for pres.

I do think that he'd be better than Clinton though.

Wow, well thought out arguments wrapped in anti-semetic alarmist craziness.

I do, however, have a problem with a guy who knows the horrors of war and still wants to be involved in it. That, to me, is the very definition of sickness.

Wow.

I'm not a big McCain fan- I'll probably vote Dem- but that seems a bit harsh. He's not the best candidate ever, and I strongly disagree with his foreign policy, but I think he at least deserves some respect for serving his country well.

His anger has been reported on many times, Ive heard about it on conservative talk radio
He was forced to take out a life insurance policy to finance his campaign because lenders feared he would croak on the campaign trail

Not saying it's not TRUE; I just think that both sides can nitpick about silly things the candidates have said and done. Not knowing as much about the economy as he should is at least HONEST. Do you think Hillary is an econ whiz? This current prez certainly isn't! I don't see how a propensity towards anger will necessarily stop him from being a bad pres.

Yes being honest is a great thing, doubly great for a politician, but would you want someone who didnt know enough about surgery to operate on you? or anyother 'profession'

I don't see how a propensity towards anger will allow him look at all facts equally... idk say in a run up to war

Not only that he has said during torture he said anything to make the torturers stop. And now he supports torture for acquiring intelligence. So he is either;
1) a liar
2) senile
3) feels this is a way to "get even" with his torturers

They imply that he may have killed 167 sailors in a prank gone wrong. I think it would be impossible for his commanding officers to overlook something as horrendous as that.

I wonder, how likely it is that he wet-started his aircraft, as they claim.
