They're just setting up to have their "best of" anthology called "The Rainbow Album", aren't they?

I think having an infatuation with asian women can be explained away as "having a penis."

I never had the heart to tell Rivers that I sent him that "Across the Sea" letter under a fake name and address.

Not nearly as many as Chicago.

I want to have a self titled album of spoken word where all I do is say my name in various tones and emotions.

But I'm highly self obsessed.

John and Yoko already did exactly that back in the 60's, although it wasn't self-titled.

Ehh they were one of my favorite bads when i was a kid so i am going to have to check this out. Hoefully it is better than the last one. Rivers is kinda a dick though i dont really want to support that guy.

What about the white album, for his infatuation with cocaine?

Next annoying Beverly Hills song that will be on radio 10 times an hour and in every commercial and highligh reel in 3.... 2.... 1.....

Weezer broke up last year.

We've all had the yellow fever at one time or another, I haven't heard any songs like Across the Sea or El Scorcho from Weezer lately.

JESUS FARKING CHRIST DUDES.... This *AND* referred spelled refered.... I fail at life. I want all of you guys to pass around that ol big bat wrapped in barbed wire, dip it in the big foam bucket right over there and take turns showing me what for.

that makes me officially a "Slinky"... Completely useless at life but fun to push down a flight of stairs.

At least thanks for the pic. Its a lot more than I deserve.

Weezer blows.

Blue album was good. Pinkerton was great... and since then they've just gotten worse and worse as albums are released.

Additionally, after the Green album, there were many interviews with River, who claimed he was going to start releasing albums every year... but then the next year, after Maladroit, he stated that his record company won't allow him to release his "stock-piled" music.

... to which I say "ha"... after hearing their last album, it's quite clear River is not evolving and is unfortunately falling back on tried-and-true formulas (unsuccessfully). And I'm quite sure there's not that much music stock-piled... and if there is, it's shiat.

Dude's are sell-outs, trying way too hard to write the next teen-bopper hit.

Nemo's Brother 2008-04-02 08:54:11 PM
Weezer sucks. They create a bunch of soulless pop songs about drugs and California, rinse and repeat.

AFarkingTempest 2008-04-02 08:54:27 PM
Now That's What I Call a Taco!: It's been pretty steadily downhill for them since Matt Sharp left.

I felt the same until Make Believe came out, which I think goes back more to their original sound ( "Freak Me Out" has the first harmonica solo in a while, which was badly needed).

Supposedly they are sharing the songwriting duties for this one. This has the possibility to rule (I am getting a little bit tired of hearing Rivers whining about his love life) or fail (That particular whining, or more likely the way in which it was written has sold them more than 7 million albums)

Who am I kidding though, I'll buy it on the first day it comes out and play it to death regardless.

You know, sometimes when a band is "taking a break", they're actually just taking a break.

I saw Weezer open for the Pixies a couple of years ago and they seemed to be a pretty solid bunch of geeks rock'n'roll band.

It's an April Fool's joke. A new album drops in June, but "Weezer" it ain't. Lame, RS.

Agreed. Everything since Pinkerton has been boring and trying too hard to be the ultimate pop song....

did an Asian woman write this headline, it appears to be in Engrish.

What amazes me about Weezer's last few albums is that they're less than 30 minutes long, and they still have filler on them.

Speaking of Wiki, Rivers Cuomo's entry explains a lot- I didn't know he was raised on a Yoga commune in Connecticut. But then again, who wasn't these days.

I've liked the songs of theirs that I've heard over the years, but the album with "On Drugs" and "Beverly Hills" on it sucked the peanuts out of Kim Karashian's turds.

rcantley 2008-04-03 12:37:28 AM
The term "sell out" gets thrown out there a lot, but has there EVER been a more pathetic single than "Beverly Hills?" Why not just call it, "Hey, Fox, This Song Is For All Your Shows."

Who Let the Dogs Out

If I never, ever, ever hear that piece of shiat again, I'll be happy.

Which reminds me that I started a list of songs that should be wiped off the face of the Earth forever. I think Candle in the Wind (Princess Die version) was #1.
