Historically significant... but not funny at all.

i'm sure your mother would think its funny. or someone else from that era.

Johnny Cash is an American icon, and a legend that has crossed all genres of music. Elvis is a punchline. THAT is the difference

Thats farking great.. stfu haters... even funnier when you consider it's from one of the very early tours they were on together.. and elvis was probably there in the wings. come on .. .when he belches and checks his shirt to see if he puked on it on accident..

FTFY...

While I love Johnny Cash, Elvis has a much larger catalog of good songs.

I love when he throws his back out gyrating his hips, that's comedy right there.

Um, how was that impersonation NOT supposed to be a young Elvis Presley?

superspeck 2008-04-02 09:47:17 AM
If it's not the "young Elvis" then which Elvis is it?

Indeed. When I read "not the young Elvis" I thought it wouldn't be this one.

Don't you know...Johnny Cash was Psychic.

doctorwormwood 2008-04-02 09:53:48 AM
I'm not sure the young Elvis was that much different from the old Elvis as far as gettin wasted goes, with the exception of the results of being the young Elvis hangin on his gut.

Johnny and Elvis are both icons, and they both have a very deep catalog of great to amazing songs.

Go ahead and try to mention anyone that compares to either of them. You can't. They both have a category all to themselves.

Bob Dylan, too, is in a category all by himself, and thus compares to both Elvis and Cash.

Except for the little fact that Cash and Presley could actually sing.

Dylan could sing, too. He just did his own thing. I mean, he sang much like, say, Kurt Cobain sang - all farked up but it sounded good, so who cares?

Evidence that Dylan can sing: "Lay Lady Lay", a track on which Cash appeared on, too, actually.

Paul Simon belongs in that list, as does Todd Rundgren, Peter Gabriel, and Bowie (although those last ones aren't quite on the same page as Elvis and Cash....)

Elvis was a punk-ass biatch whining mamas boy compared to Johnny Cash

Elvis always seemed more like Britney Spears type product than a musician. You gotta be a little ugly for me to respect you.
