No hat-tip to Pachelbel?

For shame.

I've only heard of two of those songs / artists.
but it was pretty, nonetheless.

DewdropsOnTheGrass 2008-04-02 01:54:29 AM
I can't stand any of those songs except for the Five For Fighting one, but this video amused me.

Diarrhea, probably.

OK, so one minute ago I got "Video no longer available." Now it's there.

Meh. April fool me, YouTube.

Heh, got this in a mashup podcast about a year ago. Definitely one of my favorite mashups just because it could actually hold its own as an actual song.

Your Fairy Hockey Player 2008-04-02 03:07:26 AM
And it's late and I'm actually saying actual too much.

It's amazing, all pop songs DO sound the same...

JohnnyDreamboat 2008-04-02 03:25:57 AM
I thought Scatterbrain did it better with "Down with the Ship".

Zenith251 2008-04-02 03:38:19 AM
Heh, I don't like a single one of those songs. Throw them all together, and you almost get one complete song.

Pop sucks.

mofomisfit 2008-04-02 09:09:43 AM
I hate, HATE, every song I knew in that mix-up, which was five of the six. And yet it was still really cool.

MikoSquiz 2008-04-02 09:23:36 AM
Talk about generic.

John_Rat_Safari 2008-04-02 09:41:50 AM
I like mashups but don't like silly love-broken boys moaning about broken love. Back when I DJ'd I would play Shirley Bassey's 'Spinning Wheel' along with NWA's 'FTP'... so if anyone knows of a mashup incorporating those two (separately or together) I would be getting a kick out of the reply.

mishmashmusic 2008-04-02 10:10:22 AM
That would be cool if the songs weren't already full of suck.

nutmilk 2008-04-02 11:13:40 AM
After choking down my own vomit listening to the most saccharine souless white frat boy ballads i've heard since Hootie, I can tell you this, it's more of a Medley, or a Mix than a mash up.

The lengths I go to for SCIENCE.

CephJedi 2008-04-02 11:33:24 AM
Pretty neat. My hat's off to the mooks that assemble these things, although speeding up 3 doors down AND putting them through a vocoder to stay on key was stretching it a little bit.

/you musicians should know what I'm talking about.
// U2's "With or Without You" and Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" have the same progression too.

I lasted 5 seconds until Jason Mraz' whining twaddle drove
me away.

jedzz 2008-04-02 04:04:25 PM
That was neat, but it Jason Mraz always such a spaz when he performs? Holy moly.

It's one of the simplest and best progressions. A LOT of songs have it. From every era.

As an amateur songwriter, I've probably used it around half a dozen times. I know songwriters - professionals - who have used it more.

One of my favourite Mashups ever.
