/He was great in Band of Brothers and Boomtown.

Are anyone's interests really served when a band reunites? Invariably, after a long hiatus, their "new" stuff sucks and they end up turning into their own tribute band in concerts.

Okay, I know: it's all for the filthy lucre. Fine, whatever. Still disappointing though.

I can think of no band that I'd be genuinely excited about hearing that they're reuniting.

Okay, maybe Fugazi. Their last album had some great songs and it seemed like they had a lot more to say.

WhyteRaven74 [TotalFark] 2008-04-01 03:02:54 PM
Listen to the New Kids, then listen to the last batch of boy bands. They actually weren't bad. Though Please Don't Go Girl needs to be wiped from human history.

I made this comment in the other NKOTB thread an hour before this went green:

Considering their ages, shouldn't they change their name to "Old Farts on the Lawn" or something?

Coincidence? I think not.

Stop stealing my lame, cliched jokes you bastards! Don't make me sue you.

They recorded this after reuniting, and it's probably the best album they ever did.

There are a couple bands who made awesome records after reuniting (Mission of Burma and Dinosaur Jr. spring to mind), but yeah, overall reunions are a waste.

That's nothing my wife was on the cover of the Ottawa Sun when they came to Ottawa waiting in line. I keep threatening of getting the front cover and framing it for her :)

When NKOTB started out, I was into Guns 'n Roses, and thus hated them. (Yes, I know, I know, "GnR not something to brag about either, blah, blah, and c.)

That said, I would go to their concert now.

/and suicide bomb it.

Unfortunately yeah. One of my best friends can't wait for them to release new material. It's sad.

She's in her mid-30's and still lives at home with her mom. That seems to explain a lot

Being known as the tough guy in NKOTB is like being known as the best debater at the special olympics.

I love those albums too, but BG&E was so heavy and so raw I was blown away. I had no idea these guys could make something like that. I listened to it so much I wore the first copy of the CD out.

Transpogue 2008-04-01 08:54:01 PM
You know, I was on the NKOTB bandwagon back in the day. I had the books, the posters, the mags, the sleeping bag. I was going to marry Jordan.

Fast forward 19 years and Jordan is on Surreal life being a douche, and I'm a big ol' queer girl.

There's a little part of me that wonders how the hell they are going to pull this off. Another part of me is repulsed by the idea.

Whatever...let the guys give it a shot.

I just wanna hear Donnie Wahlberg sing "Cover Girl" again.

/runs off giggling like a school girl
