I'm sure there's going to be people who are going to bash them for not writing serious or intelligent music. I challenge those people to name one other band that could pull off a song like Whole Lotta Rosie with the same intensity and fury as AC/DC.

OK that video was farkin funny.

actually that dude wasn't terrible with the electric ukelele

God I love those degenerate mongrels!

AC/DC is pure savage.
Single most unpretentious band ever.

Malcolm is the unsung hero though.

from the above picture, angus must be all of 5'1" and 112 pounds. An SG looks about the third the size on my frame.

Any detractors of AC/DC have had long enough to bash them, they keep doing what they do with zero care for what anyone else thinks.

My god, they could rock you all night with their hits from the 70's, 80's, 90's and a few from the 00's.

There is probably only a couple other bands that could do that.

That German guy actually got a pretty good sound out of that plastic ukulele.

I was really surprised.

AC/DC rules and I hate it when people bash them. I know, I know... you're too cool and smart and I'm a cretin for liking them.

I still expect to have to turn the tape over when I'm listening to Back in Black.

I just hope his parents finally let him wear long pants.

Make fun of them all you want, but go to any concert, anywhere, and let the guitarist play first few notes of "Shook Me All Night Long" and watch the place go nuts.

They swing their asses off, too.

Ever notice how sucky rock has no syncopation?

For a band that is supposedly "crude and simple" ever notice that AC/DC are seldom covered?

Few can achieve their ultra tight Devil-boogie-groove.

I once heard an astonishing version of "For Those About to Rock We Salute You" done by GODFLESH.

It was slowed down to a snail pace and churned out through de-tuned bass and guitar with sluggish soft spoken word vocals. Totally weird and creepy. They didn't even attempt to do it straight forward like AC/DC. Interesting and unusual.

I love the AC/DC live CD. I know it was done with Chris Slade not
Phil Rudd or Simon Wright on drums. But boy does it rock. They also get much respect for not playing "Its A Long Way To The Top" because that's Bon Scott's song.

Check out Hayseed Dixie's A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC. Pretty cool as well.

if only there were some sort of widely accepted gesture of respect we could offer those about to engage in rebellious musical activity...

I love the videos and live clips from the Slade on drums AC/DC years.

He has this perpetual funny childlike grin on his face that says:

"Dude! Look at me,I am so drumming for f*cking AC/DC!!!"

Saw them at a bike rally. Their bluegrass renditions were great!

I credit AC/DC with helping me to pull my head out of my ass in regards to musical taste. The first time I heard For Those About To Rock, I thought, "You know, for a stupid song, this is pretty awesome."

Impressive: Angus Young CAN'T READ MUSIC.
More Impressive: Taught himself to play guitar with no instruction.
Even More Impressive: He can play three scales at once with one hand and run the entire length of the guitar.
Most Impressive: John Lee Hooker stating "Ride On" is the song he's been trying to write for forty years. (Serious as a heart attack, it was on VH1).

/Even at 53 he looks like he just barely cracked 40.
//Hope I look that good at that age.
