No kidding, Subby. If you just picked the highest ranked team in every game this year, you probably did a lot better than anyone who tried to be 'smart' about it. *sigh*

If Davidson had actually tried to run a play on that last possession, this might be a different article.

I am still shaking my head. That game was theirs all the way.

Shakes head.

Sometimes people try too hard to be "smart" about it and start picking upsets that are still unlikely. I pick all #1s for the first round and flip a coin for everything else.

The first time Curry brings the ball up the court is the last and most important possession of the game, someone out thunk himself.

So how are things over at Ohio State?

"Constellation game"?? Isn't that reserved for all-stars?

Davidson helped shoot itself in the foot long before that.

Free throw shooting by Curry: 3 for 3 (though he was only 9 for 25 overall).

Free throw shooting by the rest of the team: 2 for 9

I was at the game and I assure you that the last possession was not the first time Curry brought the ball up the court. He did alot of the game.

Last possession was terrible though.

Anyone have the betting line on Stephen Curry being on the short list for POY next year?

I'm going to assume it's a bit of a short line without much value.

To make matters worse for this poor fellow, they eliminated that particular game years ago. UF and OSU can only meet in the finals.

Pretty much. It was absurd. Kansas wasn't great with some of their attempts, either, but Davidson killed themselves early on.

Their star player just choked at the very beginning and very end of the game... the two worst times to choke in.

There actually is a Peggy in my accounting department. I doubt winning the money will improve her bad people skills much.

Anyways I did pick Memphis and UCLA for the Final Four, but the other bracket was shot long time ago. Arkansas? What was I thinking?

When I set up one of the Fark groups on Yahoo I did a favorites only bracket as a placeholder. Turns out that bracket is tied for second among 93 people, and would be tied for ninth in the group with 500 people. Meanwhile my real bracket is 123rd in the 500 group.

No, you are wrong. I don't know what game you were watching, but Curry shifted to the point for much of the second half.

All the games are available online. One of you could easily re-watch the whole game, or as long as it takes to see Curry bring the ball up the court.

wichitaleaf: Starting a NBA franchise, I'll take Curry.

That wouldn't be too smart. I think he's 6'3" which means he's even smaller than his father. He doesn't seem to be terribly comfortable as a PG and he's a little too short to be a full-time 2-Guard. He could be a lethal role-player, but he isn't really a cornerstone to build a team around.

I'd say Curry is a bit more of an All-Around player than J.J. Reddick, but he's probably never going to be a "Star" in the NBA.

Look, the NCAA tournament used to have a constellation game for the final four until the 1980s and they dumped it.

It isn't funny if you don't understand why we're all mocking you. You keep saying constellation, which means a group of stars, when you mean consolation, which is relief from sadness or disappointment (in this case, an extra game for losers of the semi-finals).

Watch the replay again, the it actually worked. If Curry passes the ball when the eventual shooter's defender falls down there would have had an open look at the top of the key. Unfortunately Curry didn't see the opening and the final shot ended up being a desperation heave. All things being equal though, Davidson had no business being that close to a team like Kansas at the end of that game..kudos to them.

/had KU as a final 4 team in my pool

Yes a bit, as in at least on the defensive end you know Curry is going to give you as much effort as he's capable of. Offensively they are very similar. Shooters who know how to run off screens and picks to get open to hit a jumper.

Curry also has enough of handle that for brief periods of time he can play the point without dribbling the ball off his feet all the time.

It's early, but I still think wichita "don't be glib, i know the history of point guards" leaf has a slight lead.
