If there's any advice I can give young criminals: Drive an inconspicuous car, with all the lights working and so forth. And obey the traffic laws.

Racing stripe? Sounds like a Gremlin X. I had one with a 304 v8 in it. It was a nice reliable car. Well, better than the Chevy Luv I replaced it with. It would top out at just over 100mph and had a gas tank the same size as the Cadillac. Fast and you don't need to refuel as often. Perfect getaway car. A little too easy to spot I guess. I wonder if their's has an 8track player?

I too had a Gremlin X but It had the 401, very fast car but was full of "Gremlins".

Learned that lesson a bit easier, found out in 1992 that a 79 Formula doesnt blend in as well as the 90 Mustang I was playing with on the highway one afternoon. Real easy to find a car that there may only be one other like it in the city/state/region, then add color and its even narrower.

Steal an Accord if you plan to be a nefarious law breaker, even if something else is faster.

The best thing my parents did to keep me from causing trouble in my car was to buy me one that was instantly recognizable.

So we used my friend's black Toyota pickup instead.

I used to drive a Gremlin in high school, so I'm getting a big kick out of these replies.

Of couse, it was a 77, and I graduated in 93.

I think they say ignorance is bliss. I was on that road not long before the shooting happened. I heard about it on the news that night.

I don't think the pic is 70's vintage, just the car. There is a digital date stamp on the upper right akin to the mid 90's cameras. Also, the license plate looks to be mid 90's Nebraska issue as seen here...
