On Tuesday April 1 we will be drinking at

Holiday Lounge
75 St. Marks Place
Between 1st and 2nd Aves.

Map of location. (pops)

No, this is not an April Fool's Day joke. We will actually be there. We're entertaining an out of town guest who's in town on business (not Drew).

For more information please check out the TFNY Google Group:

Lookee here! (pops)

You're still gonna be there around 8 right? (Class ends at 7:30 in that area) I think I might just be able to make it to my very first Fark Party!!! Yay!!

I think it's a safe bet the party should last 2 hours, that's 'fashionably late'. I'll be there, but leaving early to go to work as usual.

Wow, a FARK party on International Atheists Day?! Cool!

I'll be at this one. But I'm not totally convinced this isn't an April Fools joke, so I accept the risk of drinking alone.

I'll cut you some slack here, since you are not one of the "regulars". We have done 4am on weeknights.

I'll be there, but leaving early to go to work as usual.

You have an office? Do what LineNoise does: show up on time a make sure people know you are at work on time then: lock the door, turn off the lights, and pull a Costanza.

I Said: I accept the risk of drinking alone.

When has drinking alone ever been a "risk"? As long as you have Johnny, Jack, and Jim you are never alone.

Every night I drink there is a risk of great danger involved. I am generally safer in large groups. Of course, the group is far less safe for having me among them.

Exxxxxcelllent. Safety is the breeding ground of boredom.

Strange-I had posted the message below, and it successfully posted, but I came back to see if there was a response to it, and now it's gone. (I don't see why it would have been removed, if that was the case.) What I had said:

Wish I could make it, but I have other plans. Damn, it's been over 5 years since my last Fark party (if you don't count the Snakes on a Plane outing).

How does one go about having a fark party? Do you have to be a TFer or moderator to hold an official Fark party?

(When the weather gets a little warmer, I'd love to see one in my neighborhood, Astoria, at the beer garden.)

willicus 2008-03-30 03:26:44 AM
I'll be missing out. First new schedule at work starts this week, and while I do have Wednesday off, I'm working till 2 AM on Tuesday.

Unpossible. It's a big room with video screens and cameras everywhere, my coworkers would be very annoyed if I turned off the lights on them all.

Join the google group and post that you want to have a fark party. 's what I did for the party at the carriage house a little while back.

You won't be drinking alone. I'm taking the same risk and might even bring a few others along with me.

Many of us have tried and failed to get one to happen there. The problem is that your NJ/Bronx/Brooklyn/Manhattan Farkers whinge about having to go out to Queens.

//At the Bohemian Hall from open to close many a Saturday.

The problem with Bohemain has always been it is a bit of a trip on weeknights, especially since knowing us, we would probably close the damn place down. Having to get back from astoria to manhattan\jersey and then into the office the following day would suck. As for weekends, well, I won't go down that road.

But I am all for trying it when it gets nice. I heard the new beir garden in brooklyn rocks too, haven't made my way out there yet,

Oh man, we should do an awesome Williamsburg German crawl. Start at Radegast. Then head over to Fette Sau for some German meat and literal jugs of beer. Then cross the street for Spuyten Duyvil!

You might be in luck. I was just told that there is a 'work function' on Friday night that I should attend. If I can't get out of it you'll only have to put up with me once this week.

:-D

Taking home a Farkette does not a continuation of a Fark Party make.

It can be a party in your pants however.

I will be there.

For those of you that have never been to Holiday, be sure to wear your finest. They have a strict "Jacket on men, dresses on the ladies" rule. Easy rule of thumb is if you would wear it to church you will be fine there.

I for one will use this as an opportunity to go to Crif Dogs.

Do they still require tails? I forgot to let the cleaner know that I would be needing my jacket back for tommorow.

No, the stopped requiring tails after lynx cats filed a class action lawsuit.

Are you British? Why do all farkers insist on using this Britishism all the time? I refuse to believe there are this many Brits/Australians hanging around in this place.
