Richard Pye: Noah Daniels did the voiceover?

I thought it was either James Earl Jones doing an impression of Charlton Heston or Charlton Heston doing his best James Earl Jones impersonation.

Not bad. I'll vote McCain if Clinton gets the Dem nod. Of course, with his age, that depends entirely on who he picks as Veep.

bah. I submitted this with the much more descriptive headline:

"America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America America. McCain 08"

Political commercials are meant to sway undecided voters...

Undecided voters are the biggest idiots in the world...

Ergo, political commercials are designed for idiots.

Mugato [TotalFark] 2008-03-28 03:12:17 PM
So basically, "America! fark yeah! McCain, '08".

mccain's weakness is that he's the continuity candidate. his only chance at all is to somehow out-obama obama. be a unifying force. really truly. i really really don't think the jingoism is going to work fro the republicans this time.

Hideously Gigantic Smurf: Undecided voters are the biggest idiots in the world...

I wouldn't go that far. I mean I'm decided but in this election, where no one really blows anyone's skirts up, I can see people still trying to decide which one sucks the least.

One thing's for sure though. If Bush has less than 30% approval rating and there's nothing to indicate that McCain would be anything but more of the same, I can't see how McCain has a chance unless people are complete imbecil-- nevermind.

Power don't come from a badge or a gun. Power comes from lying. Lying big, and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got e'm by the balls.

If that's true, then these informed voters will definitely be helped by this highly informative advertisement for McCain. Surely they wouldn't plan to spend millions over the next few months pandering to the minority/idiot undecided voters...

/sarcasm

AirForceVet [TotalFark] 2008-03-28 03:56:21 PM
Wonder if anyone will rerun Republican ads that "Swiftboated" McCain's military service from the 2000 primaries? Seems fair, balanced.

Headso 2008-03-28 03:59:29 PM
who?

AirForceVet [TotalFark] 2008-03-28 03:59:41 PM
I am disappointed they pushed McCain's POW status and not much else except vague text about middle class tax relief in this first commercial.

/Will NOT vote Republican this year.
//I'll take Hillary or Obama over the pathetic Republican status quo.

I am with you there. I vote Republican in the primary(and have McCain2000 to blame for that). I was hoping against hope he would change his tone from the same old 8 years of rubish.

helix400 2008-03-28 04:28:11 PM
Heh, you could probably take that same transcript and slap an Obama '08 message at the end. The ad was big on idealism, and not much else.

I thought the same thing. It doesn't help that the footage is super grainy. The only way it could make him seem older is if they were fast talking in high-waisted pants.

Gyrfalcon [TotalFark] 2008-03-28 05:43:04 PM
Just don't forget my staunchly Republican 92-year-old grandmother is voting Democrat this year because McCain is (drum roll please) TOO OLD.

When a lady that old thinks a candidate is TOO OLD, he probably is, because nearly everyone is younger than she is. She's also not voting for Hillary because (drum roll please) she DOESN'T TRUST HER.

I'm listening to the old ladies this year.
