NRO wishes.

You know who else wanted a full-on race war? That's right. Charles Manson.

"My hopeful wish is that the 2008 campaign will transform into a full-fledged breakdown of liberals into slavering black-addicted cowards crippled by cognitive dissonance, and a validation of my own racism and insecurity disguised as conservative political leanings, stemming directly from the Jeremiah Wright flap."

Now it's more accurate.

flavor of the month 2008-03-28 01:27:40 PM
what really resulted from the wright flap was obama looking even better and a bunch of pissant crybabies crying even harder.

SRSLY. The whole "culture war" meme is pretty much the standard dead horse over on that side of the aisle. Most people don't really see or care about any sort of "culture war."

But it helps some people feel properly persecuted, which is the main reason for continuing to beat on it.

Some people honestly believe that black people are going to pour out of their houses and start attacking random white people.

Insecurity is the biggest part of racism.

This election will be the same as every other election.

Promises that voters will turn out in record numbers....

The youth will be mobilized...

The (left/right) will be fanatical because it will usher in a (left/right) wing revolution if (he/she/grandpa)wins...

But, yeah, this year will be different...

Sunday night I got to hear a radio show from some "Bill Cunningham" (apparently his show filled Drudge's timeslot on my local radio) and he was beating away on Obama at full speed, being scrupulously careful to always refer to him as "Barack Hussein Obama" every time.

The main theme was criticism of the new pastor of Obama's church, one Otis Moss. ("It rhymes with HAMAS!!!")

Good for comedy hour, anyway. I might tune in again this week, we'll see.

That is the guy that McCain sorta rejected and denounced for being a douche at his rally. The guy said, after McCain repudiated him, he was voting for Hillary.

As he said in the article, "They are not abandoning Obama, and are not even fully capable of seeing how damaging Obama's background and underlying worldview seem to many (although they are worried enough to try to cover for him)"

This is just like the Conservatives did with the Clintons. Yeah I know the Clintons can be assholes, but most people get tired of the whining about them from the right. The rights critics of Obama sound more like whiners now. Whining they didn't bring him down just like they didn't bring down Bill. They will never let it go just like they have never let go of Bill "getting away with it". They just refuse to understand that most Americans just don't give a shiat about this kind of thing. They might not vote for Obama because he's a black guy but they could care less about Wright. All they want to know is the black guy with the funny name going to do anything about the economy that helps them more than McCain would and which guy will keep the country safe so their kids can be spoiled and not worry about anything.

This article is an interesting outlook on the future republican strategy. The republicans will make the presidential race all about race. They will go after Obama in ways Hilary never will because the republicans have no fear of alienating blacks. The republicans will try to take advantage of inherent racism of every other ethnicity, which has proven to be a good strategy among southern whites and hispanics.

/This race is going to be scary close
//Stupid republican machine....

Was there any chance that Southern Whites were ever going to vote for Obama? I mean, it doesn't seem like the GOP needs to do much active work to get their vote.

Also, I don't know if they can push too hard on Hispanics, for two reasons. One, a Richardson VP would make that hard. Secondly, Obama has a way of reaching out pretty well, and if the GOP went hard on the race thing to bring over Latino's I think Obama could use that in order to create a certain 'minority solidarity'. I don't know if he could do it, but if anyone can, he can.

ablank 2008-03-28 04:01:19 PM
No, they are serious. Cultural WAR. WAR. Because Barack HUSSEIN OBAMA IS ZOMG SCARY SCARY BLACK SCARY.

For the reasons you just mentioned it may not be close at all.

I worry that my Senator might not make it to the convention. He has cast himself in a dangerous role, historically people who demand change are targets.

Cbrusky 2008-03-28 04:12:34 PM
Seit_N_Zounde sorry to make it sound like everyone is racist just making a point that there are portions of that population that will vote strictly based on race. The problem is that the politics of fear and bias are very effective. The republicans are very good at doing this without making the candidate look like a negative person.
