Why don't they just pretend they're convicted felons and illegal immigrants. Then the Democrats will be sure to let them vote.

Mwahahahaha way to go Limbaugh- disenfranchising republican voters. And all the wingnuts keep telling us how brilliant the guy is.

One man, one vote. That's too hard to figure out? They can't count to one?

Oh wait, Kentucky.

/Yes, I've been there.

Grayson said Kentucky election officials have been warning political groups and campaign workers that encouraging Republicans and independents to switch to the Democratic Party will be of no benefit in the primary.

Well..that was a good try. TFA says their primary votes don't count..NOT THEY WON"T BE ABLE TO VOTE FOR THE GENERAL.

/but they had a blast doing it

It doesn't, that's my point. The headline implies these folks lose their real votes...confusion confusin.

Kentucky law forbids people who switch parties after Dec. 31 from voting in the presidential primary.

Maybe someone should have read up on election law before they started farking around.

He's probably smart enought to realize that not allowing them to vote in a democrat primary doesn't disenfranchise them...but, please, go ahead and bask in your personal glow of smug.

So many of my evil GOP buddies here in Texas voted for Hillary in the primary that I have to wonder if she wouldn't have lost in a landslide without the turncoats.

It really is an amazing system, the voters generally get exactly what they deserve, usually in the form of who gets elected.

Sucks to be them! HA HA! YOU ARE ALL LOSERS!

If you think that the only way candidate A can win an election is by making sure that your candidate doesn't go up against candidate B by voting for C...well...maybe you should re-think why you're backing candidate A in the first place.

while they still get to vote in the general election they still have to put up with all that liberal spam and junk mail they will be receiving for registering as a Dem.

that and they are denied hurting the Dems primary.

That's worth a good laugh.

Now THAT is a good law. The shiat they pull in Ohio, making people sign an oath to "liberal ideals" or whatever that means, is some serious BS.

Sure, *Limbaugh* may be smart enough, but what percentage of the 9,000 former Republicans will read TFA - or better yet, get turned away from the polls on May 20th - and take that to mean that they're screwed come November?

We're talking dittoheads, after all.

I got farked by Kentucky last year. I switched to Dem to vote for Gatewood in the May primary in January. Turns out Dec 31 was the deadline. I moved out of state since and my experiences with Minnesota state government have left me thinking that Kentucky is beyond repair.

Switch parties to cheat the primaries and end up getting no primary vote at all!?!?!?!?

pootsie: What on the good green earth are you blathering about?

You have to sign an oath to uphold your party's values when you show up and switch on the day of the vote. Such is the stupidity of Ohio.

Unless you're an independent, then you can vote in either primary without loyalty oaths.

Oaths, worth the breath used to make them, generally, YMMV, ONVIPROTVITHOA.

you gotta be a doucebag and an ignoramus to switch parties to vote for the shiattier of the two candidates.

What the dumb cons don't realize is "the big fat idiot" has been screwing over their party for years now.

SpectroBoy: Switch parties to cheat the primaries and end up getting no primary vote at all!?!?!?!?

Kentucky's primary is on the same day as Oregon's, May 20th. Casting a vote for McCain seems rather superfluous, so it's not like they lost anything.

/Since I live in Oregon, my vote probably won't count for anything in the primaries, either, but at least I have the convenience of mailing in my ballot.

Heh. Ohio has some wacky and almost certainly unconstitutional law allowing you to switch parties right up to the primary, but the poll workers can make you affirm that you really believe in the principals of the party you're switching to. Some blogtard concluded from this that half of Ohio's Republicans should go to jail for voting for Hillary. Apparently at least some of the mental giants on the Cuyahoga County board of elections agree (new window).

Luther924s: What about the Paulite Democrats that switched to the GOP to vote for him in the primaries?

atleast they switched to try to get what they perceive as the better candidate to win, they thought doing so was for the better of the country. I can't imagine these turds are voting for Hillary because they think she is the better candidate for the country.

Sorta ...

Register 30 days in advance (new window)

Statement required only upon challenge (new window)

No law requires an oath to liberalism, only an honest statement, if challenged, that you support the party you are purporting to be a member of.

And on what basis would any of that be unconstitutional?
