There was an interesting article about concerts in Antarctica here that I read last year. Doesn't really address the profit issue - which I assume is impossible and has to be covered by the profits from the rest of the tour. But there are a couple bars down there attended only by researchers stationed there, and I guess they're bored enough to sit through anything.

To be fair he only writes the lyrics. The musical arrangements, which are the stronger aspect of the band, are done by Partick Stump who is actually talented.

Emo is short for "emocore," which is itself short for emotional hardcore/emotive hardcore. Its roots are in 1980s American hardcore music. Over the ensuing 10-15 years it came to align more closely with melodic punk and pop. So yeah, pop-punk would have included (or does include) some things now called "emo."

Like "grunge," it's now mostly a fashion statement and only tangentially related to music. I liked a lot of things that were called "emo" in college, but I don't like much that's called that now.

I'm not emo in any sense of the word. I barely even listen to Fall Out Boy. I also definitely dress much preppier and classier than you. No Hot Topic or Rock America or whatever the heck stereotypes you're picturing in my wardrobe. I can vouch for the fact from talking to Stump in HS that he's not a "douche". He's actually a really nice guy. Seeing Stump perform in bands in HS (mostly on drums, where he's excellent) but also vocally from time to time, I also know know that he's a very talented dude. Since I actually know the guy and am not just spouting off diahrhhea of the mouth like most of you never-wases and never-will bes, I decided I'd vouch for the guy.

You say I need to buy something nice to make me feel better. I feel great, man. But from my experience the people who b*tch about everything and everyone usually without having a clue of what or whom they're talking about, are the ones that truly unhappy. I think it's you Mugato and the other bandwagoning haters that could use a little counseling.
