That was actually pretty cool.

Not bad. Elvis looks pretty stoned. I'm impressed he carried the tune ok. But I'd rather see Neil Diamond perform it.

Imagine how much money he would have made if he had toured overseas....

No, not bad. He was a good singer in 1970. In 1956, however, he was awesome.

bonesdilligaf: congrats!!!!!! she is adorable.

Thanks. :)

nice bunny hat

A family friend bought her an Easter outfit. Unfortunately, she was a week late, and wouldn't have fit in it the next time Easter rolled around. The hat was too adorable not to use though.

What does he take out of his belt at 1:42? Does he get some girls number during the show?

He used to crib note lyrics.

I read that as The Kinks, got really excited, clicked through, was disappointed, watched the video, and am not as disappointed anymore.

YOU ALL WANTED TO KNOW!

1970 was a bad year for Elvii. Not as bad as '77, but still bad.

If you've never seen 'That's The Way It Is' you are missing out. The more removed we are from his glory days, I think the more he's going to be remembered casually as strictly camp, which is a damn shame because dude could entertain.

"Charlie, bring me my water and my scarf."

Wow, he was only sweating turkey gravy in this one, not the McDonald's biscuit gravy he sweats here:

My grandma was at this concert here in Lincoln. She still remembers how sad it was to see him up there.

How did he go from this Elvis'68 Comeback Special (new window) to that in 2 years?

/The Real King.

Believe it or not, I clicked on that expecting it to be Richard Petty.

My mother was an Elvis fan and always had an Elvis record going when I was a child. Because of that constant assault on my ears I guess I've blocked that out all memories of Elvis and totally forgot that he was called "The King" before he was called "fat drunken drug addict who died on the toilet".

Now that I think about it, Richard Petty singing that probably would've been a little scary.

Drugs or no drugs....just WOW...Elvis always seemed to be just playing along waiting for his moment...he still outshines 90% of what is out there...
