+1, Subby, that about sums it up

Scott Weiland's asinine behavior breaking up a band? That could never happen!

Yea, I'm kind of a take it or leave it kinda fan. I'd rather slash get into another sweet band of his own. Slash's Snake Pit was pretty awesome.

As long as Slash Duff and Matt stick together, I really could give a crap who is doing the singing.

/has seen VR twice on tour
//both times went for the above 3
///Scott is really not that great of a frontman

Sure. WAAAY better than G'n'R or Velvet Revolver. Go ahead and go with that, if it makes you feel better.

As long as we get some more STP records out of this, I'm good. It's not like Eric Kretz and the DeLeos have been all that busy lately.

Well duh! Slash ,Duff and Matt are going over to Axls house to finish Chinese Democracy.

Their first album went platinum, subby. But yea, keep enjoying Zach Braff's flavor of the week indie band with "feelings" where going platinum is a bad thing

Velvet Revolver live is a really fun night when they're getting along. I am psyched for the STP reunion.

When they first formed [approx. 5 years ago?], I thought to myself "Yeah.... like *THIS* is gonna last more than a year or something" [rolled eyes].

Third_Uncle_Eno 2008-03-24 06:28:24 PM
^^^ and i also had the same thought about Audioslave.

[shows how much of a predictor / "nostradamous" i am....lolz]

/so what have the rest of STP been doing, anyway?
// what happened with that Rage Against the Machine lead singer's new band?

Hey, I liked VR in the beggining, though their last album sucked epically.

Can't we brainwash Axl and get G&R back together?

My husband is freaking out about this article. Not because the band could be breaking up, but because Rolling Stone listed Duff as a guitarist, not a bassist.

Some people think that is ok. They say "well it's a bass guitar".

Those people are usually idiots who don't know much about music and never played a guitar or bass.

MetalGator: Their first album went platinum, subby.

And the second was a platter of unadulterated FAIL. Weiland's solo record was far better than either one.

It's Rolling Stone, just be happy they didn't list him as a kazooist or something

Slash, Duff and Matt should stick together, dump Kushner and bring in Izzy.

ANYTHING they would come up with would kick ass.

count me as one of the tens, they're a great live band.

Cybersnot 2008-03-24 11:41:38 PM
I'm in the tens too. No, not as good as either original band, but I still dig 'em. VR/AiC this fall was a great show.

Not saying that Snake Pit is better than GnR but I liked it better than VR. I'd love to see a GnR reunion but that's as likely as Chinese Democracy selling the most albums all-time and curing Britney's brain-farts.

Saw VR/AiC tour as well and it was indeed lots of fun.

so-called "Supergroups" never last for long. Too many egos involved. Just look at The Traveling Wilburys. Everyone knows those guys couldn't get along.

Velvet Revolver? Who TF are they?

Wasn't that the band that was formed by greedy record execs that thought they could put a bunch of out-of-work slackers together to make something really awesome, but then failed really hard?

/There's only one "Supergroup" worth my time, and that's CSNY.
