Built on a former trash dump next to Mexico City's airport

Yeah, that's a good long term prospect.

Yes, you CAN build a park on top of a landfill [see various Mt. Trashmores]. But somehow, I don't think the city govt of Mexico City has thought this all the way through.

Please, eridute us, oh sage one; what makes this headline 'the worst evar', and what would you, instead, deem, in all your glory, a magnificent headline?

I bow down to your obviously superior skills at everything, and breathlessly await your response!

You've got skill, but you're no 40below, that's for sure.

Unless you are, then that would be just weird.

ImJustaTroll: You've got skill, but you're no 40below, that's for sure.

I never used to submit that much, this months run though was caused by me finding a RSS reader for firefox that I actually like.

So, whenever CNN or fox or whatever updates. I see the headlines right there and can get the submission started.

/firefox RSS reader is called "brief". I highly recommend it. Heck, throw the fark RSS feeds on there as well.

I came to this thread hoping for pictures of hot Mexican girls on beaches.

You have failed me for the last time, Fark.

Funk Brothers 2008-03-23 12:21:19 AM
The question for beaches in Mexico City is...

where's the water?

moeriscus 2008-03-23 12:24:48 AM
Now I'm not exactly the most successful headline submitter, but ImNotFatImFluffy does have a point, even if it was expressed inappropriately.

The headline really is quite nonsensical.

Holy hell . . . that made me LOL. For rizeal.

Imaginary +1, subby - until my next sporadic TF episode.

nevwyn 2008-03-23 12:27:19 AM
Bypassing the headline and going to the article.

I rather like this fake beach project that the City has put in place, I wish my city did something like that with its pools. We have "beaches" somewhere around here as we have lakes in the area but between the tides and the constant shutting down of swimming areas due to bacteria that could be gone in two days but take two weeks to get test results for back.

Taking my kids to the beach is a serious hassle. Add in the generally crummy weather here abouts and being like the families these beaches are targeting where its just not in the budget to take a trip anywhere with a real beach at least with one of the fake beaches I'd be able to do something with my kids that would at least be enjoyable.

Gyrfalcon [TotalFark] 2008-03-23 12:27:55 AM
Being Mexico City, it shouldn't be more than a week or two before the "beaches" are too polluted to use, and the bacteria count of the "oceans" is too high to count.

Then they can fill them back in with trash, and start over.
