Remember, Obama had his goal of 1,000,000 individual donors by March 4, and he got there right around March 2nd. He's now near 2 million, only a few weeks later.

Could that guy that's doing matching donations contact me with instructions? I'm on the way out the door, but after this week doing what I can for the Obama campaign is a must.

Ok I am a die hard Ron Paul fan but I'll vote for Obama on 3 conditions

1) Get rid of the DEA or at the very lease decriminalize the chronic

Has he said anything about the War on Drugs and the destruction of our civil liberties it has caused?

2) Stop this nonsense about a nation wide CCW ban - stop making law abiding citizens into criminals it's not going to stop people hell bent with guns now

3) Don't attempt to pass another AWB

See it's simple, just stop with the bull shiat downward spiral collapse of civil liberties...

Everything else, despite my libertarian leanings, I could get behind.

I give his campaign some small amount of money ($10-20) every time he does something that makes this South Sider proud.

This should help. There's no info on whether decriminalization is in his plans, but reducing the draconian punishments for drugs certainly is.

We need to worry about the future, not what one candidate for one party has done a month ago

Um.

A pro-Individual thread is a not a pritisan thread, you goonball.

Partisan threads are threads about how Democrats are great or Republicans are the best.

What, you don't think we should say anything positive or negative about INDIVIDUALS either?

Dunno about that but I do know he said "Of course I inhaled, that was the point." about burning the chiba.

I tossed him 25 bucks on my birthday. He's the only guy I really see doing anything to move the country forward, for the betterment of everyone. The others have other interests at heart.

At least thats what I think.

Drakkenmaw 2008-03-22 01:48:54 PM
Gave him money myself, too. It's a shame to see Hillary try to drag Obama screaming into the abyss with her, but maybe he'll get still be able to come out on top once McCain's consistent ill-preparedness to do anything other than parrot what other people tell him to say gets more media attention. I used to want McCain for president, two elections ago, but it really does look like he's gone senile in the last eight years. Damn shame, really.

Still, though, I have a small consolation if the Republicans manage to pull it out again thanks to Hillary's "scorched earth" campaign against the Democrats - they'll be left trying to clean up their own mess, and they've all but shown a Powerpoint on the fact that they'll bungle the crap out of it. I said some time ago that the next president needs to be a miracle-worker or they'll wind up costing their party in elections for years to come - we're teetering precariously over a pit here. I really don't think McCain is up to that task, and I know Hillary isn't going to be "ready on day one" to deal with that sort of thing. Maybe Obama has it in his bag of tricks to deal with that mess, maybe he doesn't - but he's the only one of the three I can even suspect might be able to do so.

Please give me your totally rational and detailed description of his racist hatred. Also include the equally reasonable claims that he is a socialist, jewish, super-secret Muslim trained in madrassas!

No no no - he's a socialist, in the pocket of corrupt capitalists, jewish, super-secret Muslim trained in madrassas, who goes to a black-supremacist church!

I wonder if people even realize how silly this sort of thing sounds in aggregate.

I had started a personal pledge based on donating $10 every time Clinton lies, changes her campaign slogan, or tries to indirectly smear Obama.

I had to stop because I realized I wouldn't be able to make rent if I followed that for a couple of weeks.

Obama hates the Jews, haven't you heard? When he's not busy being a Muslim who goes to a black-supremacist Christian church, that is.

Don't forget Empty Suit. That's how he's able to fit all those labels into one persona. He's got all that room in his empty suit.

And most dangerously, Obama is the AntiChrist. The opposite of Jesus. That's why they can't nail him with anything.

I was under the impression the sequence was:
not news, news, fark!
As in: not news: couple has sex; news: in public place; fark: couple was pair of 400 lb each, dressed in effigy of the local town mayoral candidates to protest recent debates on public obscenity.

oh well,

saintstryfe 2008-03-22 02:05:02 PM
What got me is I just saw on CNN him being cold-asked about IDEA - the federal law that requires schools to offer Special Education to students who need it.

He not only knew it was special education related, but stated he'd fully fund it as opposed to GW's budgets.

This man is so on it's scary.

Was the MyDD "source" a joke?

MyDD.com is a Clinton stronghold...the DailyKos "strikers" went there so as not to be near people who don't care for Clinton.

There is a large chunk of posters there that HATE Obama. Not as bad as taylormarsh.com, but close.

thalidomide new and improved: so, what's he going to do with all that money when his campaign finally implodes in a disastrous pile of racist fail?

To answer your question honestly, if that happens he'll do what almost all politicians do with leftover donations of campaign funds - donate it towards the campaigns of others in the party. Typically this goes to fund people running for positions in the legislative branch. He could also donate it to charity, which some candidates do as well.

It's not like people just pocket it when the campaign fizzles out, though Ron Paul's actually held back his donated campaign money from the Republicans by continuing his campaign even though he's mathematically excluded from the nomination as a protest against current Republican positions. It'll be interesting to see whether he gives it to the CATO institute or something instead of putting all that money towards McCain's candidacy in the national.
