There's a lot going on in that little story. His wife ratted him out, but I couldn't tell if the wife thought he was the other guy all along.

FTA: The VA's inspector general began investigating Mulcahy after a phone call from Mulcahy's wife, authorities said, but it wasn't clear how she learned of the alleged deception nor why she called authorities.

She knew he was lying because veterans have enormous "equipment."

/Or she found out how much six inches really is.

What did he have as proof?

You missed a guy (farker) claiming to have been in the Marine Core.. yet having no substantial proof and only the worst backstory filled with lies and errors in the history of lying on Fark.

-9.5 years service
-saw combat (yeah, even in the Air Force..wtf?)

Some article he must have Googled his ass off to dig up, where it referred to Marines as soldiers. During the Spanish-American War.

I say let him face military justice, if he wants to impersonate a Marine for 20 years let him have some time in Leavenworth. If he were young enough I'd say let him go to Iraq or forcibly enlist after serving time.

A Tout Le Monde 2008-03-22 01:32:32 PM
How ironic.

When I was in the Navy it was all about not bringing your status if you can possibly avoid it. Too many stereotypes floating around.

Grass is always greener.

Also, he missed about a thousand other Farkers doing the same thing, except with better spelling. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though. Speaking as the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, I can tell you that all of us military types find it quite flattering. We talk about it while we're doing army stuff.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to be at the base gym in oh-twenty-six-hundred minutes.

Actually you got it wrong dumbass....Bush actually did serve in the Air National Guard. The Dan Rather story was bogus ( suppose you don't recall him being fired over it?? )

It was Al Gore who claimed to have served in Vietnam even though he never did...

Unless of course you consider going on a press junkit and being surrounded by body guards " serving " in Vietnam.

Still, I'm grateful that he was so well protected by body guards or he may not have lived long enough to invent these internets.

Good thing he wasn't impersonating an Air Force veteran, then, they'll take you up to something like 56 for some positions if you pass their physical and get a waiver.

I know this because they tried to recruit me the other day. Wow, that's a shock, sort of like getting carded.

I go the other way. I'm actually a tall, tan and ripped Navy SEAL pretending to be a wimpy and pasty-white New York attorney.

While my life is all action--carrying babies and nuns accross minefields, hunting for Bin Laden in piranha infested Iraqi rice paddies, that sort of thing--sometimes I just like to pretend that I spend my days under flourescent lights conducting document review, doing legal research and drafting memoranda.

Start with Zap Branigan's comment.

Anybody remember the name of the Farker who claimed to be the guy in this photo:

FYI: That's a stock photo of a Polish GROM commando. It's on the farking Wikipedia entry for GROM.

You got to carry nuns across minefields?

We used to PRAY to get nuns to carry across minefields. All we had was a dead packmule to carry across hot gravel, and he was starting to bloat.
