That article was only long enough to be idle-interest mongering. It needs about another two paragraphs to reach concern-mongering, and another whole page or so before it can even be considered dread-mongering. Fear-mongering is way, way on the horizon.

All-you-can-eat baseball seats: Are they safe?

Can anybody really eat more than one?

Not if they are covered in lead paint.

Are they made in China?

I know I would be pissed if I were at a game and someone ate my seat.

Toronto's Jays (Toronto's other Leafs) are doing the same, for about 10 bucks above the normal ticket price.

These people really need to get a life... How much can you consume during a game that typically lasts around 2 hours?

Yes, they're safe. They're very safe. They're so safe you wouldn't believe it.

That is why I spread mine heavily with Dave's Insanity Sauce™ before I go to the beer line - you can always see who tried to nibble your seat when you get back by their watering eyes....

If it wasn't for the Yankees and Red Sox being in their division The Blue Jays would probably make the playoffs.

/MLB really needs to do something about the clusterfark that are the Yankees and the Red Sox... How can anyone really compete against them?

$1,250 for NFL season tix including food/drink isn't half bad really.

Goldberg says -- just what the world doesn't need is another way
to get as much food as you want whenever you want it.

Yeah thanks Goldberg for telling me what the world doesn't need. Judging by your namesake, I can empathize with your issues of having enough to eat. Now shut up and fetch me a corn dog.

As someone who regularly goes to the All You Can Eat/Drink deck at the town's summer league team...I don't care if they are safe, it's farking awesome!

dwade 2008-03-22 11:08:05 AM
Does the all you can eat go throughout the whole game? I went to a local minor league team and had tickets to the "Party Deck" as they put it and the food was only free up until the 3rd inning then you had to pay.

Ew... Let's not talk about the reasons why a seat at a sports stadium would end up salty.

I'm glad they had to talk to a 'professor of nutrition science' to tell us that people are fat and will shovel more food down their gullets if it's all-you-can-eat.

I think you underestimate the amount of alcohol people consume at those games. Not saying alcohol is paid for BUT if you get five or six beers in me, plus the shots I invariably took before the game, I can put down an obscene amount of hot dogs, peanuts, and whatever else they have at the concession stand.

People like this need to DIAF. I will do whatever i want, whenever i want. Im the one who has to live in this shiatty world where sports and food are a diversion from the day-in day-out grind of life thats been made for me. If i want to eat 2 hot dogs instead of one, its my farking choice.

Yes, just what we need: another Liberal elitist telling me what I'm allowed to eat, what I'm allowed to listen on the radio, and watch on TV.

You can have by beer and hot dog, when you pry them from my cold, dead, hands.

Instead of trying to save people from themselves, perhaps they should spend some time looking in a mirror, and try to save themselves, first.

rydz 2008-03-22 04:46:46 PM
Actually as I understand it, a large percentage of the world DOES need another way to get as much food as they want whenever they want it. This dichotomy between the part of the world that doesn't have enough to eat, and the part of the world that actually has serious problems with having too much... tweaks with my brain, somehow.

What Lexus level? It's now the Golden Moon Casino level. So much for baseball staying away from gambling.

We have a team in Cleveland that had no problem competing against the vaunted Yanquis, at 1/3 their payroll. We Gave Boston a run for it as well.

I wasn't aware that there were 125 games in a season. I mean the average all-you-can-eat is $10, but they have variety, and you can always turn the game off, so that seems like a much better value.

Actually, it does have something to do with TFA. The pic was taken at The Ballpark in Arlington, which rolled out an all-you-can-eat hot dogs, coke & nachos section last year.

/I might have been at the game where the old fart took the bat to the jaw.
//Talk about adding insult to injury... he paid to watch the Texas Rangers.
