No, but he WAS the original "Comeback Kid."

Carville and Begala are the type of people who I hope will go away when Obama wins.

Carville has always been awful. He looks like skeletor, though, which is kinda cool.

George Stephapopadopalopapopalous by his side helped. George is pretty good at making things easy to understand from all the BS rhetoric.

He is still not 1/100th the man David Brinkley was. He never will be, either.

Carville really hasn't been relevant in over a decade. This is the guy who badmouthed Dean's 50-state strategy and thought Gore would run in 2008. Does anyone take him seriously anymore?

The Democrat Party deserves the likes of Carville, Begala, and The Clintons. It's amusing watching this all get exposed, finally, even though it's always been obvious to many non-partisans.

You know, I certainly hope that the hispanic community will take heart that the Clintons dismiss Richardson's endorsement of Obama because there are no contests left in which Latinos will have a major voice.

So which member of the Clinton campaign will repeatedly deny knowing Hillary?

And which one is the doubting Thomas for when Hillary rises again?

But... but... I thought his endorsement was irrelevant????

This just shows how poorly organized and ineffectual the Clinton campaign is. They can't stick to one story.

bwesb 2008-03-22 05:28:09 AM
How is it that Carville has absolutely no other opinion outside of supporting a Clinton candidacy?

Here is a man who is by all accounts a respected pundit, known for direct candor in all things political except one; he is blind to any other possible candidate but a Clinton.

His logic, also, compares HillBill to Jesus. That's like comparing dog-crap to Lindt chocolate.

Seriously? You were giving it to that Republican shill? She always sounded like she'd be wild in bed with that vodka slur to her voice.

Was she any good?

Also, for future reference, never refer to a chick as your "lover". You might as well just leap right out of that closet ya big queen.

Apparently this turmoil has been brewing for a while. Behind the scenes the new democrats have been battling the old ones for supremacy. Apparently Carville tried to stage a coup against Howard Dean after the 2006 congressional races and get Harold Ford to be DNC chair (after his lost his Senate race I might add). Obviously didn't work out. I think this Richardson endorsement is showing how a lot of people in the party are rebelling against the Clintons and the DLC stuff. And ultimately this does bode well for her "super delegate" strategy. Not like it was a very smart strategy in the first place. Anyway, Carville saying shiat like this along with Bill Clinton AGAIN big upping McCain and Hillary as patriots while implying Obama is not shows yes, there is a struggle but I think the party as a whole is ultimately growing tired of the Clintons and their ilk.

Overall great article - it just shows the severity of the endorsement in the minds of the Clinton camp, despite their protestations (I believe Penn said yesterday that it "really didn't matter").

I'm loving every inch of the Clinton beat-down. Every fricking inch.

Murkanen 2008-03-22 07:11:22 AM
proteus_b:

or would the obamaniacs fail to support hildog?

A lot of Obama's support comes from independents, first time voters, and cross over votes from Republicans who are sick of the same ol' same ol' bullshiat. These aren't voting for the Democratic Party, they're voting for Obama and the ideals he stands for and those ideals only. So in a word, yes. The Obama folks are very likely to either vote for McCain or vote third party instead of support Clinton in the general election.

Murkanen 2008-03-22 07:13:35 AM
blueswoman:

Obama isn't the one dragging the race to the convention on the idea that he can get enough supers to overturn both the popular vote and an almost 150 pledged delegate lead.

Stopping short of calling people tards.... THIS.

Most Obama supporters on one hand will claim they want the nastiness out of politics, and on the other hand they call Hillary a racist entitled biatch. The hypocrisies are astounding.

I know anti-Obama posts get flamed here pretty hard. I will go ahead and explain my stance.

Obama - great speaker(like JFK and Clinton 1) and might be a great President. Way too many social programs listed on his website. (Kennedy wasn't all that great and that is who he is compared to)

McCain - I really want to vote for McCain, but he has put himself in bed with the crazy neo-conservative side of the republican party

Hillary - No one in Washington likes her. Nothing will get done. Hillary-care will NEVER pass

Conclusion. If you want LESS government and less spending, vote Hillary. She will get NOTHING done, and this is exactly how I like my federal government. In a STALEMATE! (this will most likely result in a balanced budget as well)

I am open to comments on how I might be wrong. I don't think anyone is stupid for supporting either candidate.

Murkanen 2008-03-22 07:38:21 AM
seabass242: Most Obama supporters on one hand will claim they want the nastiness out of politics, and on the other hand they call Hillary a racist entitled biatch.

Aside from the racist bit, what part of that description isn't accurate? Her entire campaign, from saying that the states who aren't voting for her "don't matter" to her saying that McCain should be president if she doesn't get the Democratic nod, has been centered around a single theme that is echoed by her supporters constantly:

"It's my turn to get the nod, damn it, why don't you see that?!"

Murkanen 2008-03-22 07:43:24 AM
seabass242:

They aren't insults if they are accurate. Calling Bush incompetent isn't an insult because he's screwed up everything he's touched. Calling Hillary a conniving biatch because of her tactics in this campaign is also not an insult. Hell, it's the reason why some of her supporters like her so much.

Murkanen 2008-03-22 07:45:18 AM
Don't ask me why I put Bush in bold, I'm not sure myself.

/maybe because she's demonstrated that she's the Dem version of Bush
//incompetent, corrupt, and lacking anything resembling ethics

Murkanen:

I would like to see a quote of her saying this.

I believe she was pointing out that during a general election Obama will get attacked on experience. She was making the point that she would not be as vulnerable to McCain on the experience issue(whether that is true or not). Saying that someone has more political experience than someone else is not an endorsement.

But, I will wait for your quote to prove me wrong.

I would like to see a quote of her saying this.

If there's one thing you learn from being the son of a professional rhetorician is that words can carry meaning that are both obvious, yet left unsaid. If I say "It is a colour created by mixing 1 part yellow with 1 part blue", it's the same farking thing as saying "It's green" even if the word "green" never passed my lips.

Similarly, if Hillary says "Both McCain and I have the experience to be Commander and Chief", the implication is that Obama doesn't have the necessary experience to be president. This really is basic critical thinking and comprehension of language here, so I guess it shouldn't surprise me that someone who wants Clinton to win has so much trouble with it.
