He can't drink in D.C. any longer? That is harsh.

I'm sure he has a few friends that can get him a new gig.

As I said before, any lawyer caught knowingly giving false statements under oath deserves permanent disbarment.

vudukungfu 2008-03-20 12:40:29 PM
Hey, Scooter, I want fries with that!

Snarfangel [TotalFark] 2008-03-20 12:47:11 PM
His friends, Moped Williams, Bicycle Brown, and Segway Smith, are inconsolable.

wildcardjack 2008-03-20 12:48:11 PM
Of course, his new career wouldn't require him to practice law.

He's going to give motivational speeches.

While living in a van.

Down by the river.

What's his wife's name?

I expect she'll run for president in 2016.

Harriet Grant.

Bush should've let Libby serve his two years. It would've done a lot to heal the wounds between the left and the right. When he pardoned him, a lot of us lost all rationality and just wanted blood.

I like blood.

Can't Bush just wave his magical executive wand on this, too?

vudukungfu: Hey, Scooter, I want fries with that!

He is a well-connected D.C. party insider who was the only one to take a fall for a scandal that involved numerous people who should have gone to jail.

No, I think not.

degreeless 2008-03-20 01:51:02 PM
Bill Clinton was also disbarred for his shenanigans.

/but..but..Clinton

He'll get some cushy wingnut-welfare think-tank job to reward him for taking the fall.

He could sell a book or two just like the rest of the players in that fiasco have done.

My fav is when they wait till they're out of office, then slam BushCo in their books as if they were unwilling participants in its sins.

Redemption. Not Yours.

Libby was not pardoned. Only his "excessive" sentence was commuted by president Bush. Everything else still stands, minus the time in prison.

Yes, because if there's anything this administration needs, it's to piss off every single lawyer ever.

The only crime committed is a grown man going by the nickname 'Scooter'.

I think he's doing a heck of a job.

Jacobin 2008-03-20 03:45:16 PM
Since he's only worth $100 million and hasn't really practiced law in decades, I'm sure this will really hit him hard.

jonathanjfo 2008-03-20 03:50:58 PM
are they ever going to convict the person who actually leaked Valerie Plame's name to the press?

upload.wikimedia.org

Richard Armitage

Digitalstrange 2008-03-20 04:04:27 PM
oh yes it was Bush pardoning Scooter that caused all the hate, before that it was all sunshine and puppies

So does Laura.

im sure he has a nice plush chair warmed up and waiting for him with a $400,000 check at the heritage foundation or fox, with plenty of underage girls being molested by pandas in cages.. since i guess he's into that sort of thing.

jonathanjfo: are they ever going to convict the person who actually leaked Valerie Plame's name to the press?

Richard Armitage

he claims he didn't know she was covert. so it would be hard to press charges against him because the crime is to KNOWINGLY leak the name of a CIA agent. he didn't lie to the grand jury apparently so whatever. He's actually said that he didn't think valerie was covert because he saw her name being openly thrown around in memos throughout the white house, which he claims is NEVER done... which makes me think he was actually an unwitting participant of the VP office who was trying its hardest to get someone else to unknowingly leak Valerie's name. so I hold VP office far more responsible than Armitage. Scooter knew more than what he was letting on.. hence the obstruction of justice and then the pardoning, and then the wingnut welfare which is bound to kick in in day now.

varmitydog 2008-03-20 04:28:39 PM
jonathanjfo; are they ever going to convict the person who actually leaked Valerie Plame's name to the press?

Yeah, I'd like to see Cheney charged with treason for outing a CIA agent myself. But why did you put up a picture of that other guy?

Thrag 2008-03-20 06:22:26 PM
Digitalstrange: oh yes it was Bush pardoning Scooter that caused all the hate, before that it was all sunshine and puppies

Yeah, it was so irrational to not like the guy before the pardon. I mean that whole covering for people who damaged our national security for little more than petty political payback certainly shouldn't upset anyone.

Bush hasn't pardoned Scooter yet, he only commuted his sentence. I'm sure he'll get a pardon next Dec/Jan.

Just imagine how he would have been hammered if he got a beejay.
