Any list that forgets Superbowl Shuffle AND WrestleRock Rumble is insta-fail...or double-win.

I'm confused.

/watching Inland Empire certainly doesn't help matters there.

FTA: Ethiopia, a country that's more than 50 percent Christian, probably doesn't need to be schooled about Christmas by Boy George, Lisa Stansfield, and whoever the hell Sugababes are.

Hmmm, seems like the author has been living under a rock the past ten years or so - Sugababes are one of the few pop acts to cross over to a mainstream audience

Any song that brings Run DMC and Whodini together with New Edition and Ricky Martin-era Menudo can't be all bad.

Whodini is in my all time top five band names.

I can't stand U2 or Green Day, but liked the Saints Come Marching Video. Guess that makes me totally uncool..

Come on, at least "Stars" had David and Derek from Spinal Tap.
And "Sun City" is a good tune, if only for Lou Reed's performance.

I remember when the Sun City video was big on MTV. I always thought it was the most well written of the cause songs.

"guilt-free" is one of the most annoying phrases ever. if you have some sort of guilt about eating animals, then don't eat them. but don't imply that i should feel guilty for eating them (or at least some of them).

nothing against you personally but the phrase sets me off.

DrBenway [TotalFark] 2008-03-20 01:05:16 PM
"I'm farking Ben Affleck" not on the list?

But seriously, weren't profits from this one donated to anti-apartheid efforts?

DrBenway [TotalFark] 2008-03-20 01:15:31 PM
Dang, I missed the "overblown" part of the formula, so scratch that last one.

On the other hand, who could not be moved by Culturcide's "They're Not The World"?

BigRenoski 2008-03-20 01:37:47 PM
The last two are hilarious. Well, the second to last one is more like scare-larious, but still amusing.

zabbers 2008-03-20 01:55:58 PM
We're All in the Same Gang was a great song. what was hilarious is how Dr Dre produced it and then released The Chronic a couple years later which was basically a tribute to black-on-black crime.

"Hey let's make a song about making peace!"
"Yeah, good idea!"
"Cool, now that that's done, let's go make some songs about killing everybody who looks at us funny"
"Makes perfect sense to me!"

If there is a part of your life that sucks so bad that a bunch of celebrities have to sing about it, then the rest of your life probably isn't worth living either.

I fully agree. Starving children in Africa should just do the rest of the world a favor and kill themselves. Bunch of selfish little bastards...

I have nothing against eating animals either, I think it's just fair to at least let them live a little first, rather than bringing them up as a resource, locking them in cages and all that. It's not hard to let a chicken run around a bit, is it?

/how the hell did a thread about charity singalongs turn into a discussion on free-range chicken?

So, basically ALL of the well known charity songs.

it is when you look at the reality of commerical chicken farms. when i was a young lad i lived on a farm (for 2 years i boarded there) and we had free range chicken. we didn't even have a fence around their house or anything. we had everything else penned to different areas so we saw no use to lock them up. but i mean we had maybe 30 chickens just for ourselves. it wasn't like we were selling chicken to a large section of the population. besides who the fark cares if they get to run around before they die? i say that in all honesty and not to just be a prick. when i eat my food i go, " mmm...tasty". i never go "wow i wonder if he got enough excercise?". i even worked in a slaughter house for a while.

though i will freely admit that i'm an asshole. so live and let die ... just don't expect me to feel guilty is all.

I think it had something to do with transmitting hepatitis from NYC to Los Angeles.

That looks like the junior high dance committee got all political on the dance theme.

Okay, maybe I wasn't paying attention in class, but what the hell was that last "Special Bonus Track"?

That may either be the best or worst thing in the history of everything.
