Loved BR549 from 10 years ago, and I generally don't like country music.

Thanks, subby

BR5-49 kicks ass. Chuck Mead is a Farker, too, so be nice.

BR5-49, isn't that the formula for Crystal Meth?

Sorry, my bad - it's the police designation for Jenkem

BR5-49 is very cool, and guest Ricky Skaggs is one of the best musicians alive.

I have seen these guys as many times as nearly any band out there. I preferred the original lineup with Gary, but Chuck always put on a great show even without him.

I had no idea what this link was about. I guessed that it had something to do with Royal Canadian aircraft. But I didn't think that they had a B-52.

...usedta play shows with them in the late '90s - great bunch guys. Smilin' Jay even gave me pointers on my double stops & rig configs!!

Don't like honky-tonk? Skaggs? BR549? Then your opinion ain't worth sh/t.

Dear Jerk 2008-03-18 10:56:47 PM
The Homestead Grays were the best band ever to come out of Lawrence. One night there were three bands playing at The Outhouse and I think Chuck Mead fronted all of them.

Me too. Master Cylinder was barely a better alter-ego name than Las Vegas Apostles was for Sin City Disciples.

Isn't that Sean Hayes/Jack McFarland on bass?

Wasn't Junior picked up on a weapons charge in Atlanta wearing the full Hee-Haw regalia - ie. bib overalls?

Rock on troublemaker! I personally always loved Rabbit Scat for the surf rocking sounds but I must have seen the Grays (and Disciples) a 100 times a piece when I was in college. Rock Chalk!

Not my favorite song of theirs, but I do love me some BR549. I was feeling nostalgic a few weeks ago and burned a CD with a bunch of local and regional stuff from when I was in college, and have been driving around with it. The first song is Little Ramona.

BR549 rocks, the guys are supremely nice in person, and they really need to re-unite.

My mom's favorite band... I gave her tickets as a Christmas gift several years ago when BR549 was touring with the Mavericks.
