He [Plouffe] noted that the Iowa gain equaled Clinton's nine-delegate win in Ohio -- a detail designed to emphasize a campaign strategy of winning delegates everywhere it can in hopes of outpolling and outmaneuvering the Clinton troops.

This makes me happy. Her argument is going to be very weak when this goes to the convention.

This infighting reminds me of the democratic infighting in 2004. The 'winner' crawled to the top of the heap so bloodied and battled that he didn't stand a chance in the general election. Hillary is doing her best to make sure McCain becomes president.

I think its unfair to call it infighting. What has Obama done to foster this infighting? He's just trying to do do this think while Clinton decides to nuke him. It's a one-sided fight.

Also, we should point that this gain of 12 delegates is bigger tan Clinton gained, total, in her HUGE, COMEBACK, GAMECHANGING, WINS in Ohio and Rhode Island.

The bullsh*t reeks doesn't it? Yet I keep finding myself saying, "I can't wait until such and such a date, when she's finally gone.." Yet the date keeps moving because nobody in the media has the balls to say HILLARY IS LOSING BY A SIGNIFICANTLY WIDE MARGIN. And has been for over a month.

I find it interesting that the Iowa delegates were mostly ex-Edwards. This hopefully is the beginning of a trickle of switching done in the interest of ending this thing. Edwards still has some delegates in play, and a few switching every week before Pennsylvania would sure keep the "comeback" wind out of Hillary's sails

One sided for Obama maybe. He turns her attacks against her like he's a political judo master. She's spinning things like an offshore drilling rig, and her campaign is going the same direction.

So, before Ohio/Texas everyone was saying that she had to close the gap with bigs wins in both of those states in order to still be in it. Even Bill Clinton said that.

Now Obama's lead is even wider than it was before Ohio/Texas yet she is still attacking him and trying to spin her loses into wins.

And the MSM keeps repeating her BS talking points about which states matter and which don't.

Obama has a big enough lead where it is virtually impossible for Clinton to take a lead in any category (states won, total votes, delegates, etc) and yet the MSM still won't call it for Obama. Are they afraid of hurting Hillary's feelings?

What I don't understand is why no-one is going after this? The other thing is that the Hillary crowd is now rejecting Obama...to the point that it could jeopardized the Democratic chances in November.

To be fair to MSN, they are just reporting what she says. That's their job. While it would be nice for them to actually analyze what she said, it's better if they just report it.

MSM - as in, Main-Stream Media - The way I see it, they have 3 basic motivations not to call it for Obama:

1 - The Clintons still hold alot of markers to call in among those who own the media.

2 - Obama hasn't pandered to them - and has, on occasion, told them to go perform an act upon their persons.

3 - It's too good a show. Networks don't give a flip about truth. They like ratings.

But maybe I'm just cynical.

Thanks for bringing that back up. I wasn't planning on sleeping today anyways.

As I've said before, Clinton's campaign = some horrible clockwork tentacle rape demon. It spins and spins and spins, futilely flailing at everything in its path, refusing to finally lay down and die even though mortally wounded. Pelosi, Dean, and the rest of what passes for the heads of the DNC need to collectively stake this monster before it drags the whole damn party down with it.

No the dems didn't bloody each other up. it was a Texas billionaire and some sour grapes Vietnam vets who had a bug up their ass because of Kerry. This billionaire ,along with a complicit corporate media then gave these liars all the national forum they needed to spew their lies about Kerry for a month.
These guys were given days of free tv time if you add it all up.

that's what cost Kerry. The smears and the lies.

Clinton suggested in New Hampshire, where she won five days after the Iowa caucuses, that the Midwestern state counted less because it chose delegates through caucuses. But the Clinton campaign, aware of the stakes as the primary season rumbles toward an end, deployed experienced field staffers to Iowa well in advance of the Saturday gatherings.

Oops! Now that we can get votes from you, you guys count again. What, you voted for Obama??!?! I thought you were cool, Iowa. You could have counted.

Actually, the numbers have changed a slight bit, he picked up a net of 10 from Iowa after the conventions.

25-14-6 is the new total.

Your Company's Computer Guy 2008-03-16 11:07:23 AM
I switched at the Linn County, IA convention so I'm really getting a kick...

Seriously though, I got a postcard in the mail saying I had been chosen as an alternate and to show up at the convention in case I was needed. (The card said come early as there may be too many alternates)

I figured I go do my patriotic duty and show up. I had no idea what the day had in store for me.

7:50 AM - Show up at convention center.

8:30 AM - Get to the registration counter and told them I was there.

9:00 AM - Get seated in alternate seating area, convention starts.

9:15 AM - Myself and everyone around me agree that we can't hear anything from the PA system.

9:20 AM - I complain to a convention organizer that no one can hear. Rep. Dave Loebsack gives speech.

9:30 AM - I complain to a convention organizer that no one can hear. Several others give speeches.

9:45 AM - I complain to a convention organizer that no one can hear. I am told that the PA system doesn't work and that the organizer can hear just fine. Several others around me complain as well.

9:50 AM - I go to the other side just in time to hear instructions on where us alternates are to divide into groups.

10:00 AM - Out of us Edwards alternates, ALL of us are seated as full delegates.

10:15 AM - 10:45 AM - Re-register as a full delegate.

11:00 AM - "Cool, I'm a delegate now!" Go find my seat.

11:30 AM - What's this rulebook everyone keeps talking about?

11:45 AM - Nice lady goes to get me a rulebook.

12:00 AM - Break for lunch. Apologize to wife that I have been gone so long this morning.

1:30 PM - Lunch is over. We start voting on planks in the platform.

1:45 PM - Controversy breaks out about the rulebooks that we had 3 weeks to study??? (I had just got mine 2 hrs ago!)

2:00 PM - Controversy breaks out about deadline for submission of amendments. We should have known since it was in the rulebook.

2:30 PM - Nice lady who went to get me a rulebook is being ruled out of order because she is screaming about "wanting our kids fighting South American druglords". OK. Debate was about use of mercenaries in combat operations. She is ruled out of order. This will not be the first time.

2:45 PM - Debate breaks out about item #369 "Legalization of Marijuana and Hemp" Motion to extend debate is denied. Vote taken, too close. Standing vote, too close. 51% needed to keep, standing vote count, it passes. We keep it. YAY!

3:00 PM - Motion to suspend the rules and just get to delegate selection passes overwhelmingly.

3:30 PM - Point of order on whether or not we could suspend the rules, motion seconded, did not get enough support in the convention to pass.

4:00 PM - We have to figure out how many people want to be delegates and who wants to be alternates. 159 people wanted to be delegates, we had 107 slots to fill.

4:15 PM - Many motions filed, rules suspended, and points of order later. We have gone from 30 sec speeches by each delegate candidate to just standing up and waving when your name and number is called.

4:30 PM - Names start being read off.

5:00 PM - We finally get to cast our ballots for delegate selection.

5:30 PM - Get home. Profusely apologize to wife for being gone all day to something I just thought I had to show up for.

Overall, it was cool to see democracy actually in action and be an active participant in debate. It also felt good to stand up and be counted. I really wish they would have been more organized. I would have liked to stay and vote on the rest of the platform, but the wife was getting very annoyed. I would do it again, but I would make sure to clear my calendar!

/Sorry for the long post.
//Disclaimer: The times may not be exact, my grammar is not good, I am not a writer (I hate to write) I just happen to be a little stoned this morning and I wanted to share my experience.
