I just checked his bio. Before the Dawn is a facepalm.

Let's make this the ultimate facepalm thread. I'll start:

When does the station dedicated to Jeremiah Wright launch?

I just lol'd in my pants.

They have a fat digital pipe supplied by their very own satellites, which means they could probably fit in many more stations if they felt like it as long as they have a proper supply of microphones and warm bodies with a pulse.
I'd love to see all the retarded scandals, crazes and panics segregated into temporary channels, away from news that actually interest and concern me.

FYI: It's only a special limited-run thing. They do stuff like that a lot.

Whoever was in charge of that decision, I do hope they axe'em.

carmody 2008-03-15 06:12:16 PM
Wow, imagine a station based on Bush Administration malfeasance. John Ashcroft's "Let the Eagle Soar" at the top of every hour!

Jacobin 2008-03-15 06:13:16 PM
Whoever was in charge of that decision, I do hope they axe'em.

They did axe him and he said: "yeah, let's do a client 9 station. it'll be hot."

So, let me get this straight. They could catch Spitzer transferring $80K out of his accounts to pay for some strange, but couldn't catch a GOP hack who stole millions from the Congressional campaigns for which he worked? C'mon.

moothemagiccow 2008-03-15 07:11:31 PM
There was an article on Bloomberg calling the prostitute a 'pop star' on the internet.

They will leave no story untouched, and no story poorly interpreted.

Hmmm... I wonder if this has anything to do with the merger...

Gulper Eel [TotalFark] 2008-03-15 08:26:12 PM
MixxMaster: FYI: It's only a special limited-run thing. They do stuff like that a lot.

They could probably keep a New York corruption channel running 24/7. Spitzer was one of four state corruption cases...this week. We had an assemblyman pinched for DWI, another one sentenced for racketeering, and another one on tape shaking down a developer for a free house.

All Democrats, if you're keeping score at home. But that's only because all the Republicans moved to Boca.

Anyway, suck it, Louisiana and New Jersey. Illinois, too. New York is back as America's Corruption Paradise.

It would help if they said in the article what channel it was. It's channel 126 btw. I'm listening now. It says at the top "Sports 3" and at the bottom it says "Sports". This is a sport?

XM is broadcasting various artists live from Austin's SXSX all weekend on XM 2.

I think this is great. They should have a cable channel dedicated to this story. And then all of the other news channels can ignore the topic entirely. And lets have a Paris Hilton channel and a Britney Spears channel and George Bush channel...

Foxxinnia 2008-03-16 01:33:40 AM
I'm glad I have XM.

I don't know why, but I've been completely obsessed with this story since it came out. It's like a TMZ-Does-Politics type of thing.

Red Herring.

Fiddle, While Rome Burns.

Here are some answers to the questions...
