Just had a storm pass about 3 miles to the south of me (near Sweetwater Creek State Park) that dropped BASEBALL sized hail. News is saying there are about 8 more cells lined up behind that one, with another line of storms rolling through Huntsville, AL and heading our way.

puffy999: Hail, Atlanta.

Indeed, there certainly was lots of hail.

Colonel_Debugger 2008-03-15 04:47:57 PM
I thought this stuff only happened to cities full of sinners.

TheJoe03 [TotalFark] 2008-03-15 04:48:49 PM
I remember when a tornado went through downtown Ft. Worth a few years ago, and I thought that was crazy, this seems way worse (and is happening in a much more important city).

RobbieFal 2008-03-15 04:48:57 PM
Will they ever finish the SEC tourney?

TMBGfreak 2008-03-15 04:49:33 PM
They wanted water, right?

czerno 2008-03-15 04:50:07 PM
I'm in my basement right now, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

puffy999: Hail, Atlanta.

Up to 4.75" hail on the ground, to be exact.

This is fun......

skrewewe 2008-03-15 04:52:31 PM
Did it just get colder?

whodigsben 2008-03-15 04:53:02 PM
Yeah, nice to see our basement stays dry in wet weather. (Jebus, this is getting kind of old.)

ubermensch 2008-03-15 04:53:45 PM
They said they wanted an end to the drought, right?

monsieurstabby [TotalFark] 2008-03-15 04:54:18 PM
My tornado warning expired, yay!! Too bad I can expect several more.

ravenlore [TotalFark] 2008-03-15 04:54:50 PM
A PDS tornado watch has been issued til 1 am EDT...

It's gonna be a long night, what with all that training going on.

Here's the solution to your tornado problem. You can't get tornadoes under the water.

Rapmaster2000 2008-03-15 04:58:13 PM
That tsunami they had was a real tragedy.

BTW- did anyone read the CNN article about Cabbagetown? It sounds like it was written by someone from Buckhead.

Your_Dog [TotalFark] 2008-03-15 05:05:12 PM
Hey Jose, do ever post anything BUT pics from that site?

Congrats though, that last one was almost relevant to the situation.

Maybe a basketball sized piece of hail will crash through a certain high rise aptartment in Buckhead and hit a certain douchnozzle in the head. Or beat up his Beemer Convertible.

No, because those are images that me and some buddies caption ourselves, if we think they're funny.

Sorry, didn't realize that the watermark thingie was annoying, it's usually transparent, in small fonts

God is punishing the wicked wicked town of Atlanta..

I live in Duluth, GA (about 8 miles North of Atlanta). About 30 minutes ago we had golf ball size hail. Yikes! No damage seen so far.

Atlanta is roughly 1,000 feet above sea level.

There were three tornado warnings today in my building on 17th street. First two weren't close...last one around 3:45pm covered the whole building in rain/thick clouds. That's when we decided maybe we should stop standing by the windows trying to see what's happening and get somewhere safer.

Mjolnir1964 2008-03-15 05:24:48 PM
This is Bush's fault, right? Global warming and all that? Where're the Democratic candidates? This would be a great time to "heal" and generally be useless.

/had to bring in politics

alanw337 2008-03-15 05:29:07 PM
Wow!! I guess people have not seen it rain before.
