First off, i don't believe Obama and Clinton are destroying each other or the party (well, aside from the few times Clinton tried to sabotage Obama's chances with McCain). The RNC campaign's were far nastier than what Obama and Clinton have been lobbing at one another.

Second, the length of this primary is actually a good thing if you ask me. It's finally allowing the rest of the country to actually have a say in who the nominee will be, instead of just a handful of small states. Hopefully the rest of the states will get the taste of this, and demand for reforms so that Iowa and NH don't play such a critical role.

This is just the MSM hyperbolizing everything for ratings. Is Obama pastor really that important? With the number of people Obama knows, you're bound to find some nutcases. Can you really say you agree with 100% of everything your friend, relatives, or coworkers say? Do you cut off all ties to them when you don't? It's so ridiculous. The sins of a pastor is now the sin of the congregant?

The Christian Right is in its death throes now. When over 1/4 of the people under the age of 30 are atheists and over half of the remainder don't even attend church more than 2 times a year, you can't win votes "because Jesus says so".

Give it 20 years and their power will wane as all the old folks die. We just have to stop them from putting creationism in the schools, banning abortion, etc for the next 10-15 years and we won't have to fight them anymore. They just won't have the numbers.
