Yes, because greenlighting articles from well established news sources is bias, whereas greenlighting any random half-assed blog that decides to post an unsourced rant about "teh LIEbrals" is just "showing both sides"..

Man that sucks. There's nothing partisan about raw embezzlement. That's going to make everyday supporters nervous.

ME_GRIMLOCK 2008-03-14 12:44:50 AM
It sounds like this Christopher Ward fellow will probably get some jail time for embezzling funds. White-collar minimum security jail time.

Omigoshiathat makes two big monetary scandals, and two sex scandals for the democratic party. One to each of the Clintons, Rep.. jefferson? I can't remember the guy's name, and then Elliot Spitzer.

Ok, I know there's more than that but seriously. Foley, Craig, Bob Allen, Bob Barr, Robert Bauman.. you know what I'd be at this all night just for sex scandals (new window). Then there's Libby, Brownie, Ted Stephens, pretty much everyone in the Reagan, Nixon, and either Bush administrations to sum extent, Jack Abramoff, I think Dennis Hastert got busted for something..

I'm certainly not saying there aren't plenty of crooks in the Democratic party but Republicans have had a long run of being the most corrupt party in politics. You don't want to get it pointed out to you all the time pick a party that doesn't do it. I don't think the Greens have anyone in office to get in trouble.

ME_GRIMLOCK: White-collar minimum security jail time.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that farking over the National Republican Congressional Committee to the tune of millions of dollars will get him more than a few years. They'll make sure of it.

/as it should be

FTA: "He also appears to have made subsequent transfers of several hundred thousand dollars in funds from those outside committees to what appear to be his personal and business bank accounts."

Well, I'm glad that he had the stones to keep some for himself.

Goodfella 2008-03-14 01:01:57 AM
Embezzlement and wire fraud? Wow, I bet this is just going to knock the Elliot Spitzer prostitution sex scandal right out of the papers.

I certainly hope so. I hate it that stories about politician naughty bits get so much coverage.

this is sarcasm, right

When you see the word Republican + Greed + Fraud in a story of abuse of position and power, it just doesn't phase me anymore.

Its like deciding to be a lawyer, knowing that many people are going to consider you an asshole and virtually guaranteeing you a seat in hell.

The actions were traced back to an over-enthusiastic staffer and that staffer has been disciplined.

As it does not pertain to bodily fluids with regards to blood, semen or other such substances suggesting true immorality, minimal hearings will be held. After being suponiaed witness will not cooperate due to claming executive privilege. Also the emails will not be available due to a failure to maintain records properly. Oops, nothing can be done. The matter will quietly go away.

After all, the democratic party does not want to be accused of holding witch-hunts.

/Bush is still busy restoring integrity to the white house

That's when it should have broken. It was the goal, and they missed it by *this* much.

Republican financial scandal? Who cares?

Did you hear about DEMOCRAT Governor Spitzer having that sex affair scandalgate??

I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
And if you find that obscure, hand in your Fark card right now.

What do you call a day when a misleading headline goes green?

(hint: there are seven choices and there is no wrong answer)

Interesting reading indeed...

Robert "Bob" Allen, Florida state Rep. Arrested in the afternoon at a Veteran's Memorial Park for solicitation of prostitution from an undercover male officer inside a restroom. According to the papers Bob "offer[ed] to perform oral sex for $20". Bob Later claimed that his offer had somthing to do with his being afraid of Black people.

That's some patriotic hetrosexual unracially biased family values right there.

Randal David Ankeney, Republican activist, arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child with force. He faces 6 charges related to getting a 13-year-old girl stoned on pot and then having sex with her. Also accused of sexually assaulting another girl.

Raised in a trailer in Minesota?

Dr. Laura Schlessinger, right wing conservative radio host. Promotes family values, estranged from her mother, opposes birth control, has had her tubes tied, espouses saving oneself for marriage, admits to having had sex before she was married, opposes adultery, has committed adultery while she was married, and has slept with a married man, opposes divorce, is divorced and remarried, has posed for nude photos which are available online.

DO NOT WANT!

Exactly. There is almost no chance that this scandal will produce pictures of hot hookers.

I agree! This headline is completely misleading! It is absolutely not true that Republican scandals only happen on Thursdays!
