I'm convinced that Bush is just trolling now. No one is that stupid AND able to master respiration without regularly blacking out.

My thoughts exactly. If he is so envious, give that "man" a rifle and a helmet and send him into combat.

It's really rock bottom time. I have no idea how to tell the difference between someone truly supporting Bush and someone trolling for shiats and giggles.

To be in that 19% that still supports Bush, you would have to be so disconnected from reality that you're also unable to cope with day-to-day activities such as remembering to wipe your own ass or how to eat a pretzel.

I know some posters here have decried the use of the "But Bush!" argument, but really.. Bush is the worst president this country has ever had. Anytime a smug Republican tries to tell me that they are smarter than me, I will know that they are full of shiat because they voted Bush into office and re-voted to keep him in office. Voting for Bush is like shiatting your pants. Voting for Bush twice is like shiatting your pants twice.

For as long as I live, whenever I think about possibly voting for a Republican candidate, I will remember what a shiatty job Bush has done and I will vote for a democrat or a third party. Bush has been such a horrible President, that the Republicans should consider re-naming their party to try to distance themselves from his legacy.

/blah blah Liberal hate. Bush deserves it.

Is it finally down below 20% now? I haven't seen much in the way of polls since the primaries began.

As Commander-in-Chief, the U.S. President outranks any military officer and so has the inherent right to assume command on the battlefield.

Dude, you are employed, in part, to lead our military. So go ahead and go out there. You could consider it to be one item off your bucket list.

/maybe the last item?

Or...

Just when you think he can't possibly say anything dumber...he does.

It has nothing to do with hate or absence of hate. It's just total disbelief. Like when someone walks into a tree and you can't believe they just did that when it's the only tree in the entire field.

What a buncha crap!

The day that that cowardly, sack of meat would actually be on the front line, sober, is the day that Rush wins the Nobel prize for peace and physics. Not only that but Terri Shivo would get up and say "What did you say? I was deep in thought and didn't hear you guys talking."

Can someone please explain to me the 'real' Bush? At first I thought he was just an idiot...
after Iraq, I actually felt a little bit sorry for him, as I thought there were other 'higher powers' using him as a pawn....
Now I just have sheer disgust for him, after reading this insane stuff about Afganistan and romantic in the same sentence....

what is the real story on Bush???

I really hope he was just trying to come up with some way of "bucking up" people's spirits, over there. I've said more foolish-sounding things trying to motivate myself or a few people to do something inherently dangerous.

If that's not it, then I don't know what to say. Except that he's welcome to join them any time he likes, as far as I'm concerned.

Americans are just herd animals.

www.theglobeandmail.com

z.about.com

Nine out of ten Americans thought Bush was the greatest thing since sex in the Fall of '01. That means nine out of ten of the cows in this thread declaring their everlasting hatred for Bush would gladly have eaten the peanuts out of his sh*t in October 2001. Nine out of ten of the cows in this thread were the ones who handed Bush the blank check he needed to do everything he's done since then.

Americans are just ignorant morons with short attention spans, and follow the herd whenever the fashion changes.

Today, it's fashionable to hate Bush. In 2001, it was fashionable to love Bush.

What a lot of despicable jackasses.

I think you are kind of forgetting the fact that three thousand people died on American soil that kind of altered their views a bit. Standing behind the president in a crisis is usually the default reaction.

Cows don't think for themselves. The 90% didn't contemplate any of the implications of what happened on 9-11, they just blindly handed Bush the blank check. It should have been obvious to anyone with a room-temperature IQ that Bush would invade Iraq, and it should have been obvious to anyone with a room-temperature IQ that it would lead to a protracted, expensive guerrilla war.

You didn't have to be a f*cking Einstein to see it all coming, but my countrymen clearly aren't Einsteins, are they?

Now, they use Bush as the scapegoat for their pathetic lack of imagination and abdication of the responsibilities of citizenship. Well, they're despicable cows, sez I.

Well, the Iraq War is their war fought on their behalf and whatever has happened in Iraq is their responsibility. This isn't a dictatorship, you know. They could have voted Bush out in '04, but they didn't. They could have held the Democrats feet to the fire and forced a withdrawal last year, but they didn't. But they'll gang up on internet message boards to anonymously express their viceral hatred of Bush, the contemptible cowards.

To be honest, Bush hadn't had the opportunity to screw things up just yet. It's the 56 mil or so that voted him *back* in that you should have a beef with.

As to the Prez' comments, holy freaking shiat. This isn't a late 1800's French Foreign Legion type of affair where you get sent to a protectorate and get to wear pithy helmets and fight off nomads around Egyptian ruins, this is IED's and snipers and automatic weapons. There is nothing romantic about that.

Afghanistan itself prior to the rise of the Taliban, however, was quite beautiful from the history and pictures passed on to us. Either way, Bush is talking about something so removed from current reality it's banfoolzelizing to the rest of us.
