Barack Obama: it's better than bad, it's good!

No one knew what he had done; no one knew what he would do; no one cared whether they knew; all only wanted to be a part of it.

They can keep SAYING no one knows what he's done, but it's been posted here many times. Anyone who doesn't know by now is simply willfully ignorant. And, that pretty much describes a Republican to a "T".

Not to mention a Hillary supporter. Hillary's campaign has been by the book Republican.

Well, it certainly describes VDH, who's desperate for more wars to write about so that he can continue to pretend he's some type of warrior-scholar-poet-Renaissance Man.

(Mind, I generally liked Carnage & Culture, but it got a bit masturbatory from time-to-time).

And now, as some people wake up from their pet rock purchase, they are seeing they've de facto nominated someone rated about the Senate's most liberal senator based on three years of experience there.

People are turning against Obama? Coulda fooled me, what with that decisive victory in Wyoming yesterday.

I'm still surprised people fall for the 'most liberal' line. Every Democratic nominee is the 'most liberal' of the Democrats running.

FTA:
The Democrats have boxed them into a situation of running a candidate that has out-sourced all negative attacks to the New York Times, political junkies and columnists, in order to remain above the fray and loyal to the "new" politics of change and hope.

Last time I checked, the Times was solidly behind Clinton... and was running the negative attacks on her behalf, so she wouldn't have to early in the race........

If Obama is a pet rock, McCain is a living fossil.

From TFA "Democrats will have to run against a Republican moderate in states like California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Texas that their candidate lost in the primary, after a nasty fight in which Sen. Clinton finished as the surger."

OK, now this pea-brained fancy hat wearing shoestring wannabe is gonna tell me, after I had no chance to vote, that HIllary won my state? Now I am here often and there are some kooky articles, but this guy is Ann Coulter without the wig.

So here is the plan. I am running for his position as Victor David Hanson. I would like to have everyone vote for me for this position. I will be the next Victor David Hanson for the national review. I am running unapposed so assuming that I get more votes than undecided I will take his position as Victor David Hanson. And he cannot run against me, because you see the place he works they do not acknowledge that his position is up for grabs. But according to his logic, that is an unimportant fact. So when I show up at his office, or his house, and announce that I was elected the new him, he will surely acknowledge my vast intelligence in following his own train of thought. I look forward to writing the next crazy GOP thing that slimes its way into my tiny brain.

/Vote brimstoner for VDH

I'm old enough to remember pet rocks. Which means I'm old enough to fully appreciate the jaw-dropping stupidity of that opinion piece. It should be axiomatic: when your best line of attack is to compare a presidential candidate to a 36-year-old flash-in-the-pan toy craze on the basis that "everybody wants it", then it's time to man up and admit: you got nothing. NOOOOOOTHING. Go home.

GaryPDX: I can [sic] believe I thought of this last week..how weird.

I can, and no it isn't. I've read your posts.

I don't doubt that many supporters of Obama are on the "change" or "yes we can" bandwagons, but I don't think this is unique to him, nor is it a new phenomenon. I imagine if you polled the red states on why they voted for Bush, personal characteristics would come out way above policy.

It's the National Review. They don't actually care if they are right, as long as they thwart the left's reforms. They have even basically stated that openly. They believe that their role is to slow down the pace of change in America and preserve the status quo. I don't know why anyone would want to read something that openly admits they are willing to lie in service of their agenda.

The reason that "change" is a powerful motivator right now is precisely because of George W. Bush. Period.

The Why Not Guy [TotalFark] 2008-03-09 06:09:00 PM
It's cute how the people who thought George W. Bush was the best choice for President are trying to warn the rest of us about making a poor choice. If NRO or GaryPDX thinks I'm making a mistake, that's actually a good sign that I'm on the right track.

Besides, even our second best candidate is a better choice than your nominee.

Go pull up some poll numbers of people who believe Iraq was linked to 9/11 and that we found WMDs in Iraq.

They seem to be pretty damned effective at doing so. The fact that we see this "Obama has done nothing!" meme every thread should tell you that.

AdamK 2008-03-09 06:26:42 PM
so Obama is now Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Hitler, a pimp, a drug dealer, a sexist, a homosexual, a communist, satan incarnate, a phony, a liberal, an empty suit, some inexperienced punk, a crack head, a g-d damn negro, anti-semetic, a muslim, a terrorist, a harbringer of doom, unpatriotic, and now a pet-rock

man, Obama is getting such an easy ride, i can't believe it!

i mean, really, if any of those statements were true/self-evident or right, then how come Hillary or McCain can't beat him? it seems to me that labeling the one in front as a horrible person, but then being completely unable to compete with said person when it counts... just makes your case even worse, since this is an election of ideas
