CrotchBeard: 'cuz they're all playing Warcraft now.

That's just the role play servers.

*sigh*

As it stands, i'm not sure where the gaming industry is going to go. The shift seems to be towards larger media conglomerates, intellectual property lawyer disputes and movie companies looking to tap a new well of story lines. While capital investment might be good for development of new product lines, i'm afraid we're going to trade innovation and imagination for corporate conformity and profits.

I miss the 'old days'. sure, the products might have been cheaply produced. And yes, release schedules were more of a polite suggestion than actual firm dates....but the copy was good and the games were written by True Believers.

I once used a CE Barbarian as a template for my 'evil penguins' Neverwinter Nights module. They exploded for a moderate level of damage too when they died. You could do some pretty bizarre things with that code....it was fun running my own server for a while, but it was hard to maintain and took up too much of my time.

Fun stuff while it lasted tho!

THIS. Hahaha, too funny. I finally got pissed off enough, after buying the damned d100) to buy 10 d10s to roll instead. Haven't played since the late 80s, but that d100 was one expensive piece of mass-produced plastic, iirc.

Now watch Tatsuma come in here, roll a 1 on his Sense Motive check, and chew me out over a blatantly tongue-in-cheek comment.

Wouldn't you just need two d10's? One for the ten's digit, one for the one's digit.

Not while Steve Jackson still holds the rights to GURPS. Andrew Looney at Looney Labs and James Ernest at Cheapass Games (with Toivo still collating...) also put out some fun stuff.

Eighteen-year-old recruits who admit to playing the game are, it's said, automatically given a low security clearance; an army spokesman reportedly described them as "detached from reality and susceptible to influence", which a cynic might consider prerequisites of any successful soldier.

Just one more reason why the Israeli Army is so bad ass.

Huzzah! Another D&D thread. I could care less what the Isreali Army says, it's just a damn game. Sure, some people go a little far when playing the game, but that can happen with every single hobby or activity.

Maybe they consider it a sign of insanity to be sitting inside rolling dice and arguing about orcs instead of trying to get one of the Israeli army girls pregnant.

eqtworld: You know who else thought the jews showed signs of mental and moral inferiority?

G-d? 95% of Exodus is Hashem shouting "WTF is wrong with you people?" To which the Ethopian Jews responded by saying "What do you mean, 'you people'?" To which the LORD respondeth "Uh, that's not what I... that is to say... aw, Medammit, look at the time."

Short simple and to the point, only two words.
And anyone here who plays will get defensive.

My sad D&D story...

I played it until I was in about 5th-6th grade when I discovered girls. Then, a decade later, I met a hot girl who was into D&D. We connected with each other physically but we had nothing in common. I just couldn't bring myself to re-learn all that shiat. So it was not meant to be.

Hence the mental inferiority inherent in the system. Come see the mental inferiority inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being held back in math!

You treat 10 as 0 for the tens digit. Or you get a pair of d10s, one of which is numbered 00-90 instead of 1-10.

Funny, I thought massacring unarmed Palestinian children is an even more certain sign of mental and moral inferiority.

indylaw 2008-03-09 04:10:40 PM
Sammy Jenkins: I thought mental and moral inferiority was just a normal part of being an Israeli.

Jews are either the diabolical architects of the One World banking and media-control syndicate, or a bunch of throwbacks to bizarre 3000 year old customs. You can't have it both ways.
