Our foreign policy is designed specifically to encourage terrorist attacks against us.

Well thank god you trampled our rights then, huh, Bush? We were getting all uppity.

HowlingFrog [TotalFark] 2008-03-06 07:43:23 PM
Not as long as Dick Cheney's in office.

Diogenes [TotalFark] 2008-03-06 07:49:34 PM
Only we can make you safe. But you're not safe! But that's OK, we'll take care of you. But if you turn on us you're putting yourself at risk! So stop asking questions and we'll take care of everything.

Bush and Cheney have treated this country like wife beaters.

America (and the West in general) will never be safe as long as the ideology of radical Islam exists.

FTFY

Diogenes: FTFY

Yeah, radical Islam seems to be the radical ideology at the forefront of the "causing problems worldwide" train though, hence my mention of it. It's on a crash course for conflict with all that oppose it. It doesn't negotiate or compromise.

Clearly all radicalism is threatening, but radicalism with religious backing is even uber-threatening.

Keep believing that. Radical Islam failed in the 80's, and that was in countries that were already Muslim. Radical Islam poses no serious threat to the US, except in the fevered imaginings of the freepers and the readers of neocon idiots like William Cristol abnd Charles Krauthammer.
I'm much more concerned with the radical militarism and home-grown jackbooted nationalism here in the US, that people try to pass off as "patriotism", even though these "patriots" don't even bat an eyelash as the Constitution is slowly dismantled. And when the dollar crashes as it's been programmed to do (thanks Mr Greenspan, you turdsucker), all hell's going to break loose.
Radical Islam, my ass.

HowlingFrog: Radical Islam poses no serious threat to the US, except in the fevered imaginings of the freepers and the readers of neocon idiots like William Cristol abnd Charles Krauthammer.

Keep ignoring what their own leaders are saying and the nature of radical Islam. Stick your head in the sand and do so because you refuse to listen to "neocon idiots".

Acting like there is no threat is unrealistic. We can argue what the extent of that threat is reasonably and fairly, but to say that there is no threat is just intellectually dishonest, especially given the policies of the administration in the last eight years that likely haven't decreased the threat on the whole.

Seriously, just cause someone you don't like says something doesn't mean you should automatically dismiss it. Doing things like that makes you seem like a zealot rather than someone who is reasonable.

Excellent headline, Sir de la Submitter.

Since the towers fell, the terrorist I've seen on television more than any other (BY FAR) is Mr. Bush himself.

Carrot-top taking #2 slot.

rcain [TotalFark] 2008-03-06 08:29:02 PM
This is because we haven't given up all our freedoms.
You have to understand that as long as the Constitution still stands, we will never be safe from terrorists.

The Nazi's also had a homeland security act. Germany to this day has never been more safe because of the bravery of Adolf Hitler. Oh, and the NAU is closer than ever to becoming a reality. God bless CanadaMexicoUnitedStates!

Damn it's a good feeling to know those trillions of dollars spent and thousands of lives lost weren't for nothing.

Can someone remind me again why Bush and all of his evil cohorts aren't in prison and/or facing execution for treason?

MIguy: Bush might be a farking idiot but I go to bed every night knowing that he cares about my safety.

I do see where you're coming from.
But even just admitting he's an idiot, yet with that much power, and that makes you feel safe?
And he seems to have not been that concerned about your safety before there was an angle he could use to run rampant with abuse of Executive powers.

The First: Is it just me, or is Bush right behind Guliani in hawking 9/11 for political gain?

I'd say it Bush is ahead on this count. Giuliani did it more, but failed so miserably that it almost doesn't count anymore. Bush, on the other hand, had a sinking presidency until 9/11.

And then, you know, he screwed it up royally, but that was inevitable.

kilgorn 2008-03-06 08:34:38 PM
but House Democratic leaders have not brought that bill for a vote.

True leaders..what's this congress's approval rating...22%
don't you get that much for showing up?

AdamK 2008-03-06 08:34:54 PM
the only people that can defeat terrorism is terrorists themselves, eventually their ideas will fade when effectiveness becomes inefficient

give people something else more efficient to channel their opinions and emotions through, and it'll fade away like many other systems throughout history

iraq... is not a very good way of channeling opinions and emotions
