Is his backup, Jim McMahon, ready to take the reins of the offense?

star_topology 2008-03-04 09:43:04 AM
Bull honkey. He'll change his mind.

expected to take the QB coach job at Southern Miss...

Favre to QB's "Just do what comes natural....throw an interception or a touchdown..its easy."

SlothB77 2008-03-04 09:44:30 AM
based on how great he was this past season and the low liklihood of doing it again and the solid play of aaron rodgers behind him, i think this is the right time. sure he didn't beat the giants, but he is going out still on top.

dwalder 2008-03-04 09:44:31 AM
I think a fork is better than a syringe loaded with HGH in your ass.

/Yes, I'll repeat that under oath.

TheEvans 2008-03-04 09:44:31 AM
I now introduce you to Brett Favre, the John Kerry of pro football.

To quote Bush:
"Flip flop, flip flop, flip flop! FLIP FLOP!"

I just wish the man would make up his damn mind...

qkwitit 2008-03-04 09:44:36 AM
goodbye quarterback, stay retired

dr grant 2008-03-04 09:45:01 AM
Ironman my ass. he should have played until he missed his first game and then retired immediately following that non-start.

prof_frink 2008-03-04 09:45:09 AM
Goodbye, and good riddance. John Madden will have to find another d*ck to suck on this year.

Jubeebee 2008-03-04 09:45:21 AM
Coincidentally, it's snowing in Illinois today; the frozen tears of millions of Packers fans are blowing in from the north.

"Everybody Freeze! Hit the Ground"

"Well, which is it? If I hit the ground, I can't freeze, I'd be in motion..."

/or something like that

OZZ 2008-03-04 09:45:42 AM
Who? Oh he plays that quaint little game.

Well, at least the Bears won't be last next season.

GB finishes 8-8.

NFC North dogfight predictions:

Vikings 11-5
Bears 10-6
Packers 7-9
Lions 6-10

wood 2008-03-04 09:46:10 AM
not buying it

whodigsben 2008-03-04 09:46:16 AM
Come on, if Morten Anderson can still do it, you can Brett!

/actually doesn't really care either way.

RevLovejoy 2008-03-04 09:46:18 AM

Yes, football, not "grass-diving queefball."

El Farquistador 2008-03-04 09:48:06 AM
Favre, you magnificent sonofabiatch. It's about time.

/Bears fan

Derwood 2008-03-04 09:48:18 AM

If this is true, I will cry. I'm not afraid to say it.

jerfy 2008-03-04 09:48:59 AM
RevLovejoy: So was Randy Moss the deal-breaker?

Sure looks like it. Lawrence Tynes didn't help.

Wytchocolate [TotalFark] 2008-03-04 09:49:01 AM
Maybe he'll play one farewell season for the team that drafted him.

/dreams

Just curious, what is there to hate about Favre? I'm not a Green Bay fan, but I kinda like Favre. Maybe you know something that I don't. I'm open to change my mind given the correct evidence.

Farkn Yaj Yenrac 2008-03-04 09:49:27 AM
I'll believe it when I see it.
Congrats on a great career if he actually is done.
As a Vikings fan, I won't miss him.
As a football fan, I will.

Blink 2008-03-04 09:49:27 AM
Well, I grew up a Bears fan in my youth -- and Brett Favre accomplished something pretty impressive for me: He made me like Greenbay.

If he decides to do so, he's earned the break.

If he doesn't, he could probably take any 3 of us on and hand us our asses (once he was done kicking them) without working up a sweat. Not a Packer fan but that is one tough sob.

nick_papagiorgio [TotalFark] 2008-03-04 09:50:17 AM
Good luck filling those shoes Mr. Rodgers.

/stay off the bottle Brett
//tough to do in Wisconsin

LOL dude, it's called rex grossman. you don't even have a #1 WR. you've LOST pieces to an already pathetic offense. EPIC LAWLS.

Everybody sing along!

The Bears still suck
The Bears still suck
The Bears still suck
The Bears still suck
They really really really really really really suck
The Bears
Still
Suck

I told you I'm was a 'Niners fan.

He quit football to go play outfield for the Phillies

Farkn Yaj Yenrac: I'll believe it when I see it.

Yup. Especially since I think Jay Glazer is a joke.

BabsUvulaWho 2008-03-04 09:51:12 AM
My WI friends have asked me to keep them informed if any real news happens in the world as the news there is only going to be looping Brett Favre highlights and footage of people crying at the thought of a packers team without Brett Favre.

I don't buy it myself, I don't think he'd want his last NFL pass to be an interception in the NFC championship game.
