(Daily Mail) Asinine Study attempts to show woman who drinks daily what she may look like in 25 years, with or without continuing to drink. Considering she'll be old and unfarkable either way, my vote goes to keep drinking (pics)   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 180

I agree with subby.

"Gone are her bright eyes, dewy complexion and refined features. Instead, she has huge wrinkly eye bags, droopy jowls, sallow skin and ruddy cheeks covered in broken veins."

How much of the projected huge wrinkly eye bags, droopy jowls, sallow skin are just due to ageing, fer Gawd's sake?

Jesus Christ- stop enjoying wine because you'll look marginally worse at the age of 78???

fezziwig 2008-03-02 07:47:06 PM
They'd do more of a public service if they showed the poor idiots that go to tanning parlors what happens to their skin after a few years.

Ever see an old abused saddle? Like that but with makeup.

Look at Russians. Yeah, the older ones look like a month old potato left out in the rain but with all that vodka they drink their arteries are smooth, soft and pliable like your 16 year old niece's breasts.

Bowen 2008-03-02 07:57:08 PM
booze makes your hair curly?

Dude, she's 13 and looks it.

I can't get the "after" pictures to load. I take it she's not a stunner in either case.

Heh...I like how they make her hair stringy and unkempt (due to being drunk) and make her scowl to show that she's just an angry drunk. They should have gone with a shiatty dye job a la 'Requiem for a Dream'.

quickdraw [TotalFark] 2008-03-02 08:00:41 PM
Bowen: booze makes your hair curly?

Sure! Everybody knows that.

FTA: "I'm going to stick to 14 units a week, and not drink at all between Monday and Thursday. Now that I've come this far, I'm determined that I'm going to change my ways."

Being 52 myself, I can understand what the article is discussing. As you age, your body changes in ways nobody told me shiat about to expect. Gray hair is the least of problems. Farkin' hairs growing out of my ears is my pet peeve, for now.

Perhaps they should have included a course on aging along with adolescence development in high school.

So, if you drink wine you end up with Bea Arthur's hair? What do you have to drink to end up with Betty White's?

If you ignore the fact that they changed her hair color in the second photo, and that they changed her smile to a frown, I don't think she looks all that much different either way.

And how does anyone know this is accurate, anyway?

OtherLittleGuy 2008-03-02 09:14:50 PM
So, when you get older, you'll look older, but if you aredoing something other people think will make you even older, then you'll frown.

No wonder I haven't smiled since 2000. I've been voting Republican.

I wish they'd do a scientific study for aging and marijuana. Does that scholarly research require a different Photoshop plug-in?

FuturePastNow [TotalFark] 2008-03-02 09:19:00 PM
The only difference I see in those photos is that she's smiling in one and not the other.

Would you want to know what you'll look like in 25 years? I most certainly do not want to know!

Alternate Reality 2008-03-02 09:54:46 PM
Biggest difference I saw between the two was the lack of a goofy grin in the "WITH alcohol" picture.

Scrophulous Barking Duck 2008-03-02 10:00:15 PM
Seeing how biased the people making the pictures are against alcohol, makes me want to have a drink. The pictures have different clothing, hair and expressions.

FuturePastNow [TotalFark] 2008-03-02 10:09:16 PM
The comment I left on the article still hasn't appeared. I guess they don't like criticism of their journalism.

Yes, but how much worse will she look in the after picture if I stop drinking?

SockMonkeyHolocaust: Look at Russians. Yeah, the older ones look like a month old potato left out in the rain but with all that vodka they drink their arteries are smooth, soft and pliable like your 16 year old niece's breasts.

Russian women age well... because most of them die in their 50s, before the worst ravages of age become clearly visible.
If you saw the Russian food my wife and mother-in-law eat, you'd wonder why vodka is even necessary to achieve this.

Jeff Paine 2008-03-02 10:54:38 PM
Is it just me or is the only difference in the pictures that her hair is all scraggly and shiat on the right picture? Oh yeah, and she's not smiling there either.

I dunno about you, but when I drink alcohol, I tend to have a big smiley face on. Likely because it's making me dumb.

Interesting how drinking less giver you a brown sweater.

Holy crap! I'd better stop drinking!

What did they base those digitally aged pictures on again? Nothing?

Nevermind then.

rmac-etc 2008-03-02 11:03:49 PM
what a load of crap. smiling in the teetotaler pic, frowning in the drinking pic. just looks like the same person smiling and frowning. crap crap crap crap crap topped by a load of bull shiat!

and oh, yes I drink a wee dram.

ha1rzr 2008-03-02 11:03:52 PM
so drinking leads to bad perms. Ok. I can buy that. Too bad that in the 80's I was too young to have drinking as an excuse.

Oldiron_79 2008-03-02 11:04:13 PM
instead of showing what a 53 y/o will look like at 78, why don't you show what a 21 y/o will look like at at 46. It would make more of a difference.

Largebill 2008-03-02 11:04:13 PM
A more telling aging demonstration is the effect of heavy smoking. Smokers look like shi-at and age poorly.

Tommy Moo 2008-03-02 11:04:23 PM
So alcohol messes up your hair?

MadAzza [TotalFark] 2008-03-02 11:04:43 PM
Considering how my husband will probably look in 25 years, I think I'll keep drinking.

05track 2008-03-02 11:05:08 PM
Does anyone know how "digital aging" is done? Is there any objectivity behind it, or is it just a teetotaler with photoshop?
