This is just not fair, I had to provide my own corpse when I bought my house.

Location, location, location.

But was the corpse found in a fixed position or in an adjustable position?

If that's anywhere near Baltimore, then I believe that I know the reason for this.

/the word begins with "n"

//necrophiliac, of course

No wonder home prices are falling. People just have too many farks in their homes and people find out, eventually.

FTFA: deputies called to the scene confirmed that the remains were possibly human

What kind of shape do you have to be in to be "possibly human"?

Who's Dr. Emmitsburg?

This is happening so much lately, we'll need a tag for it soon enough...

This is so weird. I just got to Emmitsburg for work for a week.

I'll scan the smallest room I've ever stayed in for any loose corpses.

Does anyone have the link to the story like this I read earlier in the week, or last week?

I tried to search for it, no such luck, but I know I saw one, where the guy was found hanging in the closet during an open house I believe?

"You son of a biatch! You moved the cemetery, but you left the bodies, didn't you? You son of a biatch, you left the bodies and you only moved the head stones! You only moved the head stones! Why? Why?"

Well, there are plenty of bones in other animals that can be mistaken for human, and vice versa.

/Found what appeared to be a human femur, sticking out of the floor in the unfinished basement of a house I was renting, years ago.
//The CSI guy thought it was human, too.
///Lab tests were able to conclude that it was from a deer.

So.... that would be a motivated seller, right?

Didn't RTFA but the headline reminded me of the first time I went apartment hunting. It was the height of summer, and I went apartment hunting. The very first place my realtor showed me was in a pretty bad part of town, but it was really all I could afford. After going through the apartment, she shows me the garage. She opens the door, and the smell and heat that hit me in the face was unmistakable. There was a guy laying face down and definitely not alive. She closes the door really quick and says, there's somebody sleeping in there! I said, I don't think he's sleeping it's 110 degrees in there. I then promptly got the fark out of there and found a new realtor.

/didn't get the apartment
//true story

sleeping?! she really thought you'd buy that?! on second though she was probably just as shocked as you were.
I've been apartment hunting the last few weeks, I'll have to keep all this in mind.

/love your band dude...

Voyvf,

Mmmmm...Those big, tinted glasses, those short arms, that small face. Nothing like a little head...

I guess Dave Atell's theory that its always Joggers that find the bodies is busted then?

Weird, normally this only happens in Germany.

When I was in the market for my current house, my real estate agent and I looked at one house that was priced at $50k. Still had ancient furniture and appliances in it. The car port was stuffed with more ancient crap. I thought to myself the place looked like some old lady had died of old age there, and the estate never bothered to clean it out before listing it. A dozen dessicated roses were still duct taped to the wall of the living room. Uber creepy. I decided on the $90k fixer upper closer to my work instead.

Due to the proximity of Emmittsburg to Gettysburg, the remains could possibly be of Civil War vintage. It's possible that the parts could be arms and legs from a Civil War hospital site, where the treatment for gunshot wounds to an extremity were 'cut it off', or 'cut it off'.

I finished my undergrad at the mount and about to finish my MBA, I should take a walk and see if i can find which house its at.

I am suprised they dont find more remains, there are always stories of bodies dumped after the battle of Gettysburg, or roaving drunk college kids and fire fighters.

Emmittsburg is no where near Baltimore.

The only thing there is a tiny Liberal Arts College called Mt. St. Mary's. They occasionally go to the NCAA tourney for winning their shiatty lil conference. Went there for my freshman year of college. Worst place on earth (except for New Jersey of course).

Meatschool 2008-03-03 06:36:22 PM
I dunno the_jerk_store_called, I live near a place called Taneytown just up the road... Still beats Jersey though.

ObiJuan 2008-03-03 08:32:15 PM
Emmittsburg is not Baltimore. It's like 2 hours away. Emmittsburg is home to Mount Saint Mary's and is near some great state parks. It's also near some crappy skiing. I grew up around Frederick and my dad taught a class at the Mount when I was young.

As a current Baltimore resident I can tell you that the two are nothing alike.
