Fukking great. Now people I know who believe in astrology are going to start citing new media reports of this study as proof that it's real.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind having some of those "lucky pants."

Don't forget, having a Libra ascendant is about the same (perhaps even more intense) than having a Libra sunsign.

That means an additional 1/12th of you or so is prone to car breakdowns.

Not to mention a Libra moon.

Well, that's at least ONE statistic that I fit for my sign but at the same time I suspect there are more Libras born than other signs because the time of conception is right around Xmas/New Years when everyone is staying home and celebrating the holidaze. At least in the northern hemisphere. I could be wrong but I do know more Libras than any other sign, and it's not by selection, especially since I don't buy the whole astrology thing in the first place.

I'm a Pisces with three Libra sisters. Pisces are less likely to break down because most of us take care of our business better which translates into taking care of our possessions.

My Libra sisters are all self absorbed, can't handle money and expect the world to revolve around them. So yes, they are more likely to end up broken down on the side of the road because they spent their money on frivolous things.

I firmly believe that certain personality types are drawn to certain cars because Saturn Vues, Volkswagen Jettas, and big black pickup trucks are the three cars that piss me off all the time. Last week I almost hit three different brand new Vues whose owners were trying to do some complicated crap besides driving their cheap plastic pieces of shiate.

czarangelus: The argument of astrology is not that the stars control your life directly. The argument of astrology is the mechanisms of the Heavens reflect the mechanics that govern human lives, and so the conditions of the Heavens are therefore intrinsically connected to the conditions of human life. The movement of stars in the Heavens are the gigantic cogs, human lives are the little gears, and put together the whole thing makes a rational system that allows you to make certain predictions.

When you are born, the nurse standing over your mother exerted more force on you than any heavenly body. I suppose that I'm a Dr. Anders, with Nurse Jones in the ascendant.

This is the most important thing I've read all day-- nay, all YEAR.

That Jodie Kidd is relatively attractive, except, she's doing that "I'm fat and in pictures" thing where she hides part of her face with her hand or hair (YES, we are wise to these shenanigans!) to make her jaw look less Neanderthal-ish.

Alright, I admit it. I hated this because I am jealous; I am infuriated that someone got paid to write this shiat. Real, actual moneys. Probably far, far more than I make for an equal amount of time's work. Excuse me while I go drink myself into oblivion and try desperately to think of a way to Photoshop some expression of my angst.

I don't buy it, but... it's funny cause my friend's car broke down yesterday and I had to go pick her up. She's a Libra, and she drives a blue car.

The real moral of that story is that Volkswagens are shiat.

Quartlow 2008-03-02 09:43:53 PM
Chris P. Bacon: 29 years without a breakdown, but Ive never owned a chevy.

I could say the same thing, if I hadn't owned a couple Fords over the years. Don't get me wrong I liked my Ford trucks. Too bad every time one of them broke down it cost a bloody frigging fortune in parts.

Chevy has never left me sitting anywhere.
Ford on the other hand was always a gamble, usually a losing one.

EvelFarknievel 2008-03-02 09:44:12 PM
Since no one else is going to weigh in on the obvious troll, I'll get it out of the way.

Chevy's do not currently suck.
Ford's do not suck, mostly.
Dodge sucks except for Chargers.

My picks:

Old school rod? Chevy all the way.
Brand new car ? Import (sad, I know)
SUV? Chevy

astrology = chiropractic

runty little girl 2008-03-02 09:44:23 PM
Libra here, My first car was a 1996 Chevy Cavalier, it ran like crap and the ABS brakes sucked but didn't break down and die on me. The second car I owned was a 2000 Nissan Sentra and my current car is a 2007 Nissan Sentra. Not sure if that puts me above Chevy status or not.

Capricorns like myself don't own cars. We pragmatically commandeer other people's vehicles, utilize them responsibly and return them to their rightful owners, gas tank full, in a timely fashion.

Or maybe I'm just a mooch.

No, but if you see an El Camino, there's always a 50% chance there is a date rapist named Rick driving it.

EvelFarknievel 2008-03-02 09:47:45 PM
Oh, and VW's are nice to look at but are a vortex of suck. I worked at a VW dealer and every day the service lot was FILLED with VW's. The three other makes of cars sold there made up less than 10% of repair work.

And yet, VW owners are rabid fans for some reason. They'll never go back. It staggers the imagination.

The only exception to this is the $100,000 VW Phaeton W12, which is a Bentley with VW badges. Made in the same factory, even. But then if you buy one, you still spent $100k on a volkswagen.
