...and Monday, and Tuesday, and Wednesday...

A lot of undergrads tend to take the notion that College is just a continuation of being able to fark off as much as you did in highschool, except now you don't have to live with your parents, yet Daddy still pays the rent.

Yes, I'm bitter about living a few blocks from a state U campus.

Let the retards not go to classes they are paying for. The sooner they drop out, the more quiet i get in my residents hall.

Also, since I hate the cliche headline of TFA:

That was one of the recommendations from the new SMU drug and alcohol task force (after SMU suffered a PR nightmare last year when four students died as a result of excessive drug/alcohol use)

More Friday classes, more large end-of-term projects and finals

I remember when i was in college a few years ago, some friends and i all had fridays off or at least late classes. So we designated Thursday as "Little Friday". Many Little Fridays were spent clubbing, drinking, doing blow off some chicks ass. It was awesome, and ill never forget any of it.

my college had saturday classes: it kind of moved things back a day.
one the plus side, we were not a suitcase college, there was always a really good weekend night life, unlike some other area schools.

Funny thing is I left the honors dorm because I hated my retarded, generic white-boy (well, he was half-asian, but he played shiatty guitar) roommate, and it's way quieter in the dorm that don't have noise restrictions.

Man, was is fun farking with my old roommate before I moved out.

Ours did too, during the year of the hurricane. Pissed off everyone, and even some professors refused to come in on saturdays. Next year, they instituted 'study days' (AKA hurricane days).

And while I've never heard the term 'suitcase college', it is oh so appropriate for my new school. I'm bored to tears on the weekends.

How? I was able to pull this off my first couple years, because I was knocking off gen ed stuff and had a lot of flexibility. But once I had to take classes for my major that were only offered once a year, there was always a class on Friday, if not three.

This is just silly. Drinking nights were Monday and Wednesday during the week. Friday was part of the weekend so that didn't count. Nor did Saturday.

Sunday, of course, was the day of rest.

I love Friday classes. The university campus is so quiet, parking is never a problem, the profs are unharried and much more communicative. Only the people who really want to be there are there, not just the ones there on Daddy's dime like they don't care.

Thank God for idiots like Lordmontu.

At U of I, for the less intelligent folks, Thursday is just the peak. Then there are those select few that can drink without it ending in passing out and vomiting, but you never see those.

my university program didn't have friday classes. my schedule was one set of classes Monday, Wednesday, and the other set Tuesday, Thursday. They didn't think it was right to give one set of classes three days. So we didn't.

bigforearms 2008-03-02 09:19:38 AM
It's not just people farking around on Daddy's coin that do this. While it probably varies by University, at every one of the three I have been to it was easy enough to schedule classes 3 or 4 days a week. Friday's have fewer class openings. Even the profs don't like having class scheduled on Friday, and they rarely had office hours on that day.

Hell, when I was in law school I think I only had one semester where I had a Friday class.

/Fridays and Saturdays for good times, Sunday for studying.

The Art Institute kids usually only have 2 or 3 days a week of classes and each day might only be 12:45-4:45, with a morning or night class thrown in somewhere.

Partying isn't my thing and I'm usually stuck behind mounds of paper and random art media, but I know the students who live in the dorms have some good times pretty much any day they feel like it.

They missed the fact the only people who are doing this are artsy kids who aren't in a real program.

Did you notice mr. bartender? He sure went far after his college degree (probably in english, hisory or interpretive dance).

I would like to meet an engineering or med school student who can do this regularly.

Thursdays are a bigger night than Fridays or Saturdays around here. There is even some drinking going on on Wednesdays but not much. Some students ONLY have M-W-F classes so Thursday is an open day for them. Me, I ONLY teach classes on Tuesday and Thursday. The students are much more awake and I get 4 day weekends.

You're doing it all wrong! A bunch of my friends are in Pharmacy or Med School...from VCU to Yale and Harvard...and we drank 4 nights a week. Monday was Monday Night Football...Wed was $2 beers at a local joint, Thursday was well...Thursday. and then there was Friday and Sat, with the occasional Sunday football drinking. Stop being a nancy boy and kill some brain cells like the rest of us.
