Actually saw him at the Deshuttes county fair (Oregon) a few years back, and I will say he was very entertaining.

Compared to many of the big acts that have no sense of humor and act like they are gods, Weird Al just goes out and has a good time with the people and at the end of the day it is money well spent.

I've stopped going to big concerts, way too expensive and all those service fees, no way am I paying $105 to see U2 or any current act.

They should all stop acting like they are actually relevant. Big ego losers.

It's been several years since I saw him, but he puts on a damn good show.

Well played!

"Well we don't sound
Like Madonna
Here we are now
We're Nirvana
Sing distinctly
We don't wanna
Buy our album
We're Nirvana
A garage band
From Seattle
Well it sure beats
Raising cattle"

All hail Weird Al!

I saw Weird Al in Edmonton at an outdoor concert.

Probably one of my top 5 concerts of my life.

/Canadian Idiot.

My eye happened to catch 'bargle nawdle zouss' in the headline and it instantly took me back to that album cover of Weird Al in the pool.

What a great album.

TOP FIVE WEIRD AL VIDEOS:

5. MONEY FOR NOTHING/BEVERLY HILLBILLIES: Originally a dream scene in Weird Al's movie "UHF." [Watch]

4. LIKE A SURGEON: My anti-Madonna psyche just can't get enough of this one. [Watch]

3. FAT: Disturbing on so many levels. (Also reminds of me "Dune." Don't ask why.) [Watch]

2. SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA: Best line - "A garage band, from Seattle, well it sure beats, raising cattle" or, OR ... "It's hard to bargle nawdle zouss, with all these marbles in my mouth." [Watch]

1. EAT IT: So good, you can never tell if it's "Eat It" or "Beat It" until you find out if the guy at the lunch counter spits out his drink in the beginning. [Watch]

What, no Virus Alert?!?!

I was at the Appleton concert when Al found out about his parents, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

I'm pretty sure, because Michael Jackson was such a fan, Weird Al was allowed to film on the actual set of "Bad." I'm not sure if he did the same for "Eat It." It's been a while since I've seen either, but the attention to detail for both videos is pretty amazing.

Had front row seats for his show at the River Rock in Richmond, BC. I nearly pissed myself I was laughing so hard. Plus, "Wanna B Ur Lovr" singled out all the ladies in the front row, so for a brief moment in time, Weird Al knew I existed (wheee!) The cell phone song, based on the "interview" with Michael Stipe, was worth the price of admission alone.
For any Farkers who attend any of these shows, have a blast!

Damn! He's not coming to NC. My son talked me into taking him a couple years ago at Carowinds Pavilion, Charlotte.
Absolutely enjoyed myself. Would love to catch him again.

/Helps that we were under the awning.
//Rained like a biatch most of the night
///I like his original stuff as much as the covers

I saw him 9 years ago during the Running with Scissors tour (godDAMN do I feel old saying that), but I'd see him again in a moment.

Easily one of the hardest-working performers in show business. All those costume changes on top of a packed set? That shiat ain't easy.

MaxxLarge [TotalFark] 2008-03-03 01:23:45 AM
Boo for no Minnesota dates.

Weird Al is one of the coolest people in the world, and one of the nicest guys I ever met.

EchoDork 2008-03-03 03:43:43 PM
Saw him twice, once in 2000 and once in 2003. Best concerts I've ever been to, bar none.

Wrentia [TotalFark] 2008-03-04 07:13:07 PM
First time I saw him was on the Weird Al in 3D tour way back in the day....he even did a few costume changes back then (like to the DEVO like costumes for Dare to be Stupid")

His band has been with him since that tour, great bunch of guys that do all styles from polka to grunge quite well. Love me some Weird Al. To bad he's not coming to St. Louis, he's one of the few acts left I would pay any price to see live.
